This looks like gstreamer 1.0:

It's in testing and even stable-backports.

Thanks, ALARM!

Hey, While browsing through this sub-forum I couldn't find any thread like this, so I hope this is not a duplicate ("thanks" is apparently used a lot, so the forum search feature won't let me search for it). I just wanted to let you know that I'm really impressed with this distro. It's a great OS fo...

If you really need mono fast, you can also install the debian armel image (non-Raspbian) from the download page, where mono probably works.

Re: MPD in apt-get needs upgraded

Raspbian uses packages from debian testing (wheezy), and wheezy is frozen since july until release, so I don't expect them to upgrade to the new MPD version. Once wheezy is released, I guess Raspbian will start compiling packages from the new debian testing distribution, which will eventually have t...

Re: How to boot kernel 3.2.0-3-rpi?

The raspberrypi boots in a very strange way. The GPU is in control first, probably doing some init work (we can't know because the source code is not public -- it's the start.elf, bootcode.bin etc. files), and then eventually loading the kernel into memory and telling the ARM CPU to start "working" ...

Re: How to boot kernel 3.2.0-3-rpi?

The sources are here: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux Though if you need sources matching the particular raspberrypi-bootloader package version (that package contains the kernel in foundation images) that is currently installed on your system, the process is rather complicated, at least as far ...

I've already said this in the github issue discussion:

My Rpi now boots fine with 240M split and boot_delay=0. Something else must have fixed it.

If anyone is happily using the latest 240M split, please report that too.
The latest 240M split (same as 0xdr01d) boots on my raspi. Yesterday I had boot problems and temporarily switched to 224M.

Re: Mediatomb and minidlna crash: illegal instruction in whe

I have minidlna working on the Raspbian pisces image (which is not foundation-supplied, but uses the same packages the Foundation Raspbian image uses).

I simply installed it with apt-get and it worked.

I'm not sharing any videos though, only oggs and mp3s, so maybe that's why it works for me?

Thanks for your response, elatllat! You pointed me in the right direction. Freeze with mmcqd/0 burning CPU

Hi, since about a week ago, my pi keeps on freezing when I use rpi-update (every single time). Using ARM/GPU memory split of 240MB/16MB Updating firmware (this will take a few minutes) Checking out files: 100% (12/12), done. And that's it. Trying to log into the pi using SSH, or using a SSH session ...

Re: Linux kernel 3.2 on Raspbian?

apt-get update and apt-get upgrade do upgrade the kernel and firmware. apt-get is restricted to versions of kernel/firmware considered "stable". So if testing the 3.2.27 kernel succeeds for most people, apt-get will eventually update to 3.2.27 as well. There's also a "bleeding edge" repository for a...

Re: DAAP server in Raspbian

Maybe spydaap is not compatible with iTunes. Apple is known to change their protocols all the time. Maybe it's now encrypted in some way and difficult to reverse engineer. (Thank you, Apple!) I know that spydaap works fine with the DAAP plugin for rhythmbox, so if you have rhythmbox available (e.g. ...

I also tried mt-daapd and forked daapd, but never got one of them to work. Yes, it's broken. http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=11634 If someone could verify that your code doesn't work in Debian armhf (not Raspbian), it is probably a good idea to add it to the debian bug report linked in that thread as a smaller example with source code. If you installed the package linux-image-3.2.0-3-rpi, that is currently alpha and not considered to be stable enough for daily use (and I think it's not quite up-to-date with foundation kernel patches). See this thread for details. The third post says how to boot the kernel. (You could also rename t...

Re: Raspbian vs Wheezy (beta) Mono support

How come Mono works fine in Debian Wheezy beta, but not in Raspbian Wheezy beta? As I understand it, Raspbian uses a different "calling convention", so floating point numbers are "transferred" on the CPU in a different way. All compilers must create machine code that uses the Raspbian calling conve...

Re: Raspbian vs Wheezy (beta) Mono support

jui-feng, very good find. I'm afraid it's actually not really a good find. I was in a hurry yesterday and a few minutes after posting this, it occured to me that the code is obviously not part of the mono build system, it's part of the JIT compiler. So it is not run on the build servers (only for t...
