It was a plain Raspian that I added an autostart video program and I got the RTC working. I'll just recreate it I guess on a 4 GB and then use that to make the others and just expand them.

Re: Options for Cloning the SD card?

Build what you want on a 4GB card, clone that and then stretch the partition after cloning to fill the big card. Right. I wish I'd known that before I built everything on a 256GB card though. I suppose that is what I'll have to do. I added an autostart video program and I got the RTC working. I'll ...

Options for Cloning the SD card?

I can clone my cards through the CL on my Mac, but it takes so long. I'm using 256GB cards for a video project. Any way to clone quicker? There is nothing on them other then the base Raspian and settings, etc.

Thanks.

Re: Can I make this video project work?

One option, although not the cheapest option, but possibly the easiest, is SleepyPi . Something based around an RTC chip with alarm function might be a better option if you are into hardware. https://www.abelectronics.co.uk/products/3/Raspberry-Pi/28/RTC-Alarm-Pi A simple FET switch connected to th...

Re: Can I make this video project work?

Ideally you'd use a microcontroller with a RTC module to control the powering up and powering down (it should hand-shake with the Pi to ensure the Pi is shutdown before powering down really). I have a vague feeling I read something about issues with large SD card sizes... Thanks guys I appreciate i...

Can I make this video project work?

As a Raspberry noob, can you tell me if this is a feasible project? I'm building a video surveillance wildlife camera. I want to use the Raspberry PI to automatically take video for 5 hours a day. I've done this many times with board cameras and DVRs, etc, so I'm not worried about building the power...
