Re: Audio problem: cannot play online radio streams using a digital audio converter with Rasp Pi 3b+

I have the same screen using a usb dac. (raspbian Desktop without the recommended software)

Sometimes it is best to use alsamixer to set the output volume (if this is possible).

Sometimes it is necessary to change the card order to place the USB dac before the default soundcard.

If using Etcher (or our Imager) you do NOT need to format the card first. I am aware that this is so. Still, when all is said and done, it has been my experience that with the larger capacity cards (as per the OP) a format sometimes is a "spoonful of sugar" ;) I refer to https://www.raspberrypi.org...

If you have a Windows computer handy I suggest you use

to format the card and

to make the image

Re: "Introducing Raspberry Pi Imager, our new imaging utility"

The new imager doesn't seem to work very well. ~"Failed to Verify" was the most common error message. And that would usually leave me with an SD card with unallocated space. I did manage to get some partially bootable images and unbootable images as well though. I also got error messages that the c...

Anybody know if it's possible to somehow extract the 'what's playing' info from the BBC Radio feeds and therefore be able to "do stuff with it"? Re: Looking To Build Internet Radio Stream Receiver

I would still suggest you have a play with LMS at sometime. The beauty of a rpi based system is that with a few sd cards one can wreak a lot havoc :) It can be installed on a rpi, Squeezelite (the player) added and has lots of plugins, sand a very helpful community. Audio output from the rpi can be ...

Re: Looking To Build Internet Radio Stream Receiver

The problem is that some of these web streaming radios are geo-locked. By withdrawing from aggregaters like TuneIn they are seeking to drive listeners to their own controlled environment and maybe revenue streams and advertising. If they are available world wide their streams may utilise lower bit r...

Re: Looking To Build Internet Radio Stream Receiver

Normally I would say, look at Logitechmediaserver (slimdevices forum) or MOode Audio or Volumio. There are of course many other of the same ilk. The problem with TuneIn is that it is loosing content as more and more radio providers move to web based streaming. You will need to research how the conte...

TuneIn, iHeartRadio, Radio.com all have 'phone apps (I'm guessing about the latter as I can't download it in the UK). You don't say which rpi you have or if you have one at all. Which OS is on your 'phone ? I'm guessing Android Buy a Chromecast Audio (There are still some new, as well as used) Job d...

Raspotify is not shown on the menu list.

Read the instructions again:

You need to start Spotify on another device and then select Raspotify.

Bye the way, the install is just a one liner if you go to git hub

Have you tried this?

Open a terminal:
sudo raspi-config > Advanced options > Resolution > select mode 82
save,exit and reboot.

On the desktop:
Applications menu > Preferences > Screen configuration > Configure > Screens > HDMI-1 > Resolution > 1920x1080 > Configure > Apply > OK

Hey Cappers

Look (and maybe ask) on the pink fish media forum and the wigwam forum.

These also have DIY sections which might provide info.

Also slimdevices forum for LMS (including threads on home built stuff).

iQaudio is UK based and Gordon is very helpful (an email might elicit advice).

OK, so depending where in the world you are located, and budget available, I would suggest that it should be relatively easy to pick up a used amp. This is just a small thing, but you may get more attention to this thread if your user name is in the same colour as your Raspberry Pi Engineer & Forum Moderator colleagues.

At first, I thought it was a general query post (or complaint).
