That's definitely the simpler idea, and more appealing to someone at my level. Sadly, I can't retool with a Pi2 until the birds have flown!

Thanks again.

Stream repeater?

I'm grateful for the efforts of all who have contributed to this forum, and in particular our two main developers. This is about the coolest thing I've ever seen... or used. For weeks I've been streaming video from the inside of a chickadee house just outside my living room window, and things are ge...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

This is just about the coolest thing ever. Especially since I've been trying for weeks to cobble together my own solution that never seemed to work. Thank you silvanmelchior! Question and/or feature request: I'd like to have the option to be able to stream the image without displaying all the settin...

Re: Edimax EW-7811Un won't stay connected

First change the contents of file /etc/modprobe.d/8192cu.conf to options 8192cu rtw_power_mgnt=0 rtw_enusbss=0 and see how it then behaves. As far as I understand it rtw_enusbss stops the wifi from closing down it's USB connection. All my Pi's have 8192cu.conf set this way and usually the wifi stay...

Re: Streaming Raspberry Pi Camera H264 into HTML over RTMP

Thanks for all the information and tips, people. Sadly I haven't gotten this to work. It's an old thread, and I don't know if things have changed since the original post, but I'm unsuccessful with the ffmpeg recompile--there are no H.264 accelerations, and the CPU stays at 50-90% for only 5-10 frame...

Re: Need help with ffmpeg recompilation!

Well, from the first link I referred to comes this: "Raspbian comes with FFMPEG installed, however, the pre-installed version isn't compiled to use the native GPU driver so FFMPEG needs to be recompiled to use it." The subsequent instructions detail it all out but they didn't work for me. I've also ...

Re: [GUIDE] Chromecast streaming from raspberry pi

Thank you erikholtan! I've been struggling for days with this. I'm unable to recompile ffmpeg, ffserver, and ffprobe with support for the RPi integrated GPU. None of the guides I've found provide enough detail. I figured the magic is in the ./configure options. How did you do it? For those looking f...

Need help with ffmpeg recompilation!

I'm trying like mad to rig up a birdhouse camera for my daughter in time for christmas following leads like http://www.instructables.com/id/Raspberry-Pi-Birdbox-Camera/?ALLSTEPS and http://www.slickstreamer.info/2013/06/use-raspberrypi-csi-camera-module-to.html with mixed success. I'm told that reco...
