To docker or not to docker on raspberry pi?

Hello everyone, Lately I am experimenting with docker and since I own a couple of raspberry pis, the question that came up to my mind was whether to use docker on the raspberry pi. For example if I want to install nodejs on the raspberry pi, I can do it simply, without the use of a docker container,...

Robosapien responds to Raspberry Pi and LIRC

Hello everyone,
a common problem with the Robosapien robot is a lost remote control.
That was the case for me too but I used the raspberry pi and LIRC to make Robosapien respond to my infrared commands.
And it works like a charm: https://youtu.be/h-H5GksE90I

Re: Raspberry pi problem- dim LEDs, no boot.

Hi again, After reading several posts, I decided to install the raspbian jessie in a sdcard and insert it in my raspberry pi 1 model B. This time the raspberry pi managed to boot successfully but the usb ports do not seem to work, the mouse and keyboard do not function at all. Therefore I thought to...

Re: Raspberry pi problem- dim LEDs, no boot.

After reading the troubleshooting sticky, I left the raspberry pi for a week for the polyfuse to settle. This actually worked! I switched it on today and fortunately the leds look fine but I get the following error message: sh: can't access tty: job control turned off I researched through the intern...

Raspberry pi problem- dim LEDs, no boot.

Hello all,
I have got a Raspberry pi Model B Rev 2 and I face the following problem:
When I switch it on, both the red and green leds are dim and after a while both leds switch off resulting in the raspberry pi not booting at all.
Is my raspberry pi dead?
Thank you for your help.

Regards,
Stratos

Sense Hat and greek fonts

Hello,
I own a sense hat and it is not possible to display a text in greek with the command: sense.show_message("<greek text>").
Does the sense hat support the greek fonts?
Thank you.

Re: Model A

Thank you both for your replies.
Actually I tried a 8GB sd card with raspbian installed, but it was very slow to start up the OS.
Is this because model A has 256MB RAM?
Thank you again.

Model A

Hello all,
I was given a raspberry pi model A.
Which version of raspbian do I need to download? Is raspbian from "https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/" ok?
What type of sd card do I need to buy and at what size?
Thank you.

How to drive two stepper motors simultaneously

Hello, I am using a raspberry pi model B to drive one stepper motor with the L293D chip and python. Now I would like to control two stepper motors simultaneously with two different L293D chips and python. I have read that this can be done with python threading but it is very difficult. Is there anot...

Thank you.
What about the software to display an image or text before sending it for plotting?

Re: 2-D printing with raspbery pi

I have checked out your link before and read this: http://www.homofaciens.de/technics-mach ... navion.htm
but it does not contain many details on the "translation" being done from an image or text to the exact movements of the stepper motors in order to print.

2-D printing with raspbery pi

Hello, I would like to learn more on making a 2-D printer with raspberry pi. I know that I need to use stepper motors and h-bridge motor drivers for my task. However I need some guidance on the following questions: 1. What software do I need to use for uploading an image or writing a text before sen...
