Re: BKOMMC error-84, PS_EN bit is not set - any concern?

I did the rpi-update and followed apt-get update/upgrade this morning. So I was updating to the most current firmware. Ok if it rolls back to the latest image then it makes sense that it broke the system. But why should it downgrade the system with a apt-get upgrade..? Btw I fixed it by shutting dow...

Re: BKOMMC error-84, PS_EN bit is not set - any concern?

I just upgraded rpi with rpi-update and apt-get update/upgrade and the boot error is back... We had that back in february this year. Is this problem only happening on some CMs? Or are the images not tested at all before releasing? Not so good when using the CM as a development platform. Let me know ...

Re: CAM1 not detected on CMIO board with default dt-blob.dts

Sounds like the CSI cable is not correctly attached or the GPIOs not correctly attached. I've got both cameras working using the default dualcam.dts.

Re: Stereoscopic camera capture - now implemented.

6by9: I have checked 3d in raspivid from your userland repo, it works with up to 60fps in stereo mode. Do you have an idea why the 90fps are not achieved? From the calculation of pixels throughput, the MMAL should easily be able to handle it. I also checked the V4L2 way of getting stereo camera but ...

4 camera system with two compute modules

We have the idea to use two compute modules to be able to capture 3 or 4 camera streams.

What is the easiest way for getting a stream of data from one Pi to another? USB? Ethernet? GPIO (DMA)?

Thanks a ton for your effort 6by9!
It would be perfect if stable 90fps would be achieved in this mode.

Re: BKOMMC error-84, PS_EN bit is not set - any concern?

At the moment I do not have the time to test this firmware, I have to get stereoscopic camera working on my CM. If it is really important to test this firmware I will do it beginning of next week. But since the current firmware state seems to have the boot problem fixed I think this bug is not very ...

Re: Stereoscopic camera capture - now implemented.

I work on a project where we need two cameras read out at the same time. We decided to implement it on a Pi Compute Module. As written above in this thread, we will try to get stereo [email protected] working. Is this thread the only information on how to get stereoscopic camera working? Best regards, Damian

Hmm strange, I just noticed with the newest firmware this bug seems to be fixed.

So the problem only occurs when flashing 2015-02-16-raspbian-wheezy.img
Thanks for helping me to debug this issue!

Yes I will verify this.

I just found out that with the older firmware my wifi dongle does not work anymore... so testing will take some time. I will report result later this afternoon.

Re: BKOMMC error-84, PS_EN bit is not set - any concern?

Ok I downgraded my CM to a171d730a2aa2a83601b778ba5028f026a25ff37 and that seems to fix the boot problem.

So, as PsycoMEn mentioned, there is a bug in the firmware newer than Jan 30, which prevents the CM to boot.
Thank you for leading me to this temporary fix!

Re: BKOMMC error-84, PS_EN bit is not set - any concern?

Ok I managed to boot the CM since trial and error leads to a successful boot sooner or later...

Can I just sudo rpi-update a171d730a2aa2a83601b778ba5028f026a25ff37 to downgrade?
there is no need to copy stuff to /boot when running rpi-update from the CM, right?

Re: BKOMMC error-84, PS_EN bit is not set - any concern?

I've just received my CM and never had another system image than the current loaded.

Bus as PsycoMen mentioned two posts above, this problem occurs only with current system image.
If I could find an older image I could test the boot process with this one.

Re: BKOMMC error-84, PS_EN bit is not set - any concern?

I have the exactly same error with the compute board and the most recent raspian (2015-02-16-raspbian-wheezy). I found out that removing power and waiting a minute, then reconnecting power sometimes make the compute board boot. This however is not an acceptable solution. Is there any known fix or wh...

Thank you for your answers. Sounds very promising! I just noticed, the Pi supports [email protected]. Am I right assuming that dual camera with [email protected] is possible? -> sidebyside: 2*640 width = 1280 (is a multiple of 256) Pi is able to h264 encode [email protected]: 1920*1080*30 = 62208000 pixel/sec [email protected]...

Re: Stereoscopic camera capture - now implemented.

Hello, I have a question about stereo camera performance on the pi compute module. We are currently using a pi to record videos at qvga (320x240) with 90fps. Is it possible to record stereo images at this framerate? What are the supported / tested modes with stereo camera mode? Best regards, Damian
