Re: Fitting my Pi in an Atari 2600 cartridge (part 1/2)

I"ve uploaded a small Youtube video to show how to fit the RasPi into an Atari cartridge. The size seems to be exact, I only need to trim some of the plastic inside and cut the holes for the ports.

Re: A very big compliment for element14 Singapore.

<t>Despite all the negative news from disappointed fans I must say that element14 Singapore did come through in spades. The nice lady that manned the phone deserves a big fat bonus. the sales-lady was very patient and even put the order in the system for me because the firewall at my work doesn't pl...

Re: "pocket server"

A1, yes

A2 I think it wouldn't be too difficult.

As a matter of fact I've been looking at a way to do that for some time now. The main issue is battery life. There are plenty of cases that would fit a RasPi and Harddrive.

The C64 never had a real GUI. You started machine code programs with "sys 49152". After 24 years this is still engraved in my brain. Excuse me, I have to go and feel old now...

<t>Although I played around with my friend"s father"s PET computer, the first computer I bought myself was the Sinclair ZX81. I was 12 at the time. Re: Arcade Cabinet

For the actual design of the cab you might want to look at http://www.byoac.com which is a site dedicated to home built arcade cabs. I want to go the easy route and use an iCade as the base.

Re: NES + Raspberry Pi for retro gaming and media center (Difficulty Moderate)

Great job! Since it's a NES I would go for these babiesThey have enough buttons for NES games but if you prefer you can use a SNES controller from the same site. A PS2 controller kind of ruins the retro feel i.m.h.o. If the price is an issue why not go for something like this.

<t>I'll be watching this very closely! My plans are to use at least one Raspi as a portable audiophile DAP, preferably with an external DAC/headphone amp. It seems that your setup will be less-than-portable but it would still be interesting to see/hear what quality audio can be coaxed out of the lit...

Pandora, Youtube, Hulu etc. should be no problem but Linux can't handle Netflix because it lacks the proper Silverlight plugin. There is an alternative but that can't handle DRM.

Stick it into an arcade joystick and run Mame and Snes9x for retro gaming goodness.
