Re: GStreamer and omx encoding from live source.. a naive problem

This was a hassle for me too, and if anyone is looking for a more simple workaround for existing systems, you can use this method: I posted my answer here as well - https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45455279/split-mpeg-ts-into-mp4-files-with-gstreamer-1-12-2/49769275#49769275 GStreamer Buffer has ...

Purple artifacts in Pi Camera Module Raspivid

Experiencing an intermittent purple artifact in video taken by raspivid on this camera module. http://i.imgur.com/U2Hevqb.png Module was working perfectly for around one month before this occurred. I'm presently attempting to remotely debug. Attempted power cycle, no effect. Attempted replacing powe...

Re: Any beekeepers out there?

So excited to finally share my project here - I'm a beekeeper, and my team and I have been working with local beekeepers from the Santa Barbara Beekeepers Association for the past year to develop this idea to remotely keep an eye on our hives, and monitor hive health. We've now created something lik...

Re: Best Cheap WiFi Dongle

Thank you for the tip Douglas6!

Pity it's coming in at $12.95 on adafruit. I had hopes it'd be at their target of $5. Hopefully they'll make a giant batch and get the scale pricing.

Cheers!

Re: Best Cheap WiFi Dongle

Curious to any updates on this front - this thread is the highest ranked forum result on google for "raspberry pi WiFi dongle" Pi Foundation has officially launched their own WiFi according to this https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/usb-wifi-dongle/ , and it looks like it's awesome from the review...

Re: OpenCV + Python GTK Warning

I had this error when running my openCV app from the command interface. I expected it to work, since Raspivid preview worked from there. Using startx I ran my openCV code from the terminal from within the desktop gui, and was able to see what I needed. Would be nice to not have to rely on the full d...

Re: Native WebRTC extension for UV4L now ready!

Thank you RpiName and Jpelletier ! Posting my experience so far in the hope of help, and that others may be helped - Although I did my best to follow all the steps on the UV4L page at http://www.linux-projects.org/modules/sections/index.php?op=viewarticle&artid=14 , I was getting "WebRTC is not supp...

Re: Dynamode USB Wifi Dongle issues

Ok awesome! Sheepishly replying to my own issue in case anyone else may benefit. Of course after looking for tough solutions trying to understand complex problems, I finally started looking for typos in my wpa_supplicant.conf file, and found them! What really helped was the following process: enter ...

Re: Dynamode USB Wifi Dongle issues

First off, huge thank you for this post especially MrEngman for this solution which immediately worked for me and my kernel version: MrEngman wrote: I have compiled an mt7601 driver for 3.18.9-v7+ #768. You can download and install it using commands wget https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/80256631/...

Re: How to enable hardware encoding of H264

Thank you JensC ! That GST tutorial was greatly helpful to me! I actually ran it on a Pi which i'd previously compiled OpenCV, but not gstreamer on. On that one I'd installed gstreamer with the following: sudo apt-get install libgstreamer0.10-0 libgstreamer0.10-dev gstreamer0.10-tools gstreamer0.10-...

Re: Driving multiple servos from the RaspberryPi

Well after a little more digging around I found that pigpio from joan is actually already able to do all the things I wanted. What's even nicer is that it has a nice python wrapper http://abyz.co.uk/rpi/pigpio/python.html I'm going to migrate my project over to pigpio, and see how that goes. If anyo...

Re: Driving multiple servos from the RaspberryPi

Really enjoyed getting the Pi up and running servos with ServoBlaster! Thank you RGH! I followed the instructions on the github site, https://github.com/richardghirst/PiBits/tree/master/ServoBlaster, but actually found this tutorial to be the fastest and easiest explanation of what was going on - ht...
