Re: Getting Pi camcorder to work with Zero gpio

Thanks for the pointers, I had seen your original but as I don't know what the difference is programming wise between the A and A+ gpio setup is, I thought I'd have a better chance of success with the very little knowledge of code I have. Thankyou for doing the original project, if all goes well I'...

Re: Getting Pi camcorder to work with Zero gpio

I don't know where you got the code from, but the original code on Github , which is unchanged for 4 years uses BCM and not BOARD. I never use BOARD in my code. Someone else has broken it for you. I don't think much of that  #!/usr/bin/env python2.7 # script by Alex Eames http://RasPi.tv # ne...

In less than 1.5 years the Pi-Zero has changed, and those changes have affected the compatibility of some of the accessories made for them. If you are desi...

There are two pertinent facts here, which you may not know so I will not condemn you for it  1) They shipped more than 17,000 orders last week, which isn't bad for an outfit of 7 people 2) The suport staff don't work week-ends and the Guvnor had the stall next to me at the Pi Party all weekend ...

Dunno, I've checked the logs I have access to and there have been no thread deletion in the last hour, so not sure where it has gone. Sorry about that, it appears that it somehow ended up in Raspbian despite being a clear RISC OS issue. Would you, or another mod, please move it to RISC OS. Done :D

When I said that, I mean investment in cash money. Investing by you brain power is not comparable at all , it is much valuable in real. Of course it is. If someone can earn, say, £500 a week, spending that time on another project is an investment of £500 a week. What is out of your cut? Can you giv...

no investment and take no risk to fail I'd categorise spending a long time working on software and implementation quite a large investment myself to be honest. And the risk of failure is getting shafted out of your cut. I'm not saying this would happen in this case, but let's not deny it can (I've ...

I think comments are nearly always enabled for the blog posts. So yes it is usually possible to make them. (But if you haven't made a comment before, they often need approving first.) I can think of one or two exceptions where a post had comments deliberately disabled, but these are extremely rare. ...

I was in two minds whether to approve this post and almost didn't. Asking for "Pi alternatives" is not really very good manners on these forums, owned and managed by Pi. But your request is unrealistic. To get camera, computer AND wifi for <=$25 is not really likely to happen any time soon. I'm lock...

Re: gpio buttons

Just add , bouncetime=300 to your wait for edge command The other thing that jumped out at me was you are waiting for a rising edge and using a pullup at the same time. So technically you are not detecting a button press, but a button release. I don't know if it matters or makes any difference at al...

you could put that bit inside a try, except block and check whether you've got a ConnectionError (or some other one I suppose). Maybe twiddle your fingers for a bit then try again. Yep. I'd guess it's bombing out the first time it fails to connect to the url. Letting it fail gracefully with try: ex...

Re: How to tell pi to hold and release wiimote buttons pytho

You seem to be trying to use GPIO Zero to read a Wiimote button press. But you've already found out you can't do that. The only way to read button presses on a Wiimote with CWiid is to repeatedly read the button states (poll) and have some logic which switches the LED off when the button is not pres...

Likely the most noticeable effect will be to reduce labor costs in the factory in Wales I don't know for sure, but I suspect the labour is priced in GBP, so weaker GBP will likely have no direct impact on it. It's only if you buy those GBP with another currency you already hold that it becomes chea...

Re: Has any user of 'PIXEL' actually read the license agreem

I think the intent behind the licensing verbiage is to protect the photographer's long-term interests in ownership of his work. I can't see any harm in that and I can't see him or RPi suing anyone who distributes Raspbian - that would be utterly ludicrous. I think the photos are fantastic, but it's ...
