Re: Rpi Cam stream high bandwith usage

Can I replace actual mjpeg with raspivid?
I use Rpi cam web interface and motion to upload snapshots to ftp server. I record no video only pictures after motion detection.
Will it work in this enviroment?

Re: RPi Cam Web, Motion

If I change video preview width from 512 to 1024px in /etc/raspimjpeg snapshots will have same resolution.
Is it possible having 512px resolution on video preview but full hd pics when motion is on?

Rpi Cam stream high bandwith usage

Is there a way to reduce network bandwith usage when rpi cam web interface streams hd video with raspimjpeg?
I read about using h264 compression but don't know how to set up it and if it really works.
Any idea?
