Re: Parallel FIFO via SMI/DMA ?

I too got quite excited by this a year or so ago. Data acquisition for camera sensors and logic analysis etc. I ended up going down a lattice ICE route which caused it's own set of issues, and finally ran out of time on the project. Would be interested to hear how far you get - please keep this thre...

Re: CM / SODIMM : BSDL or Footprint

OK, I'm just starting to put the footprint together for the CM3.

If you've already completed it, any chance of a share? If not, happy to share mine once I've gone blind ....

Re: CM3 Board Adapters?

Thanks for all the feedback - I will dig out a Zero cable and give it a go.

Cheers

CM3 Board Adapters?

Hi All,

Received a CM3 dev kit, downloaded os and boots fine. Not worked out how to re-download an OS, but I'm sure that will become evident in the near future.

The kit didn't come with I/O adaptors. Are these now a separate item, or does the Zero camera cable suite?

Cheers

Re: Port 80

Found a solution: Redirect port 80 calls to user app handing port 8080 connections ...

"sudo iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 80 -j REDIRECT --to-port 8080" seems to do the trick.

Port 80

Hi All, I have a 3rd party http server on a Pi 3/Jessie, running on the cmd line when logged in as pi, that is happy serving to port 8080, but not port 80. Scanned the web, saw that Linux only allows serving of ports below 1024 with root privileges, so ran the server with sudo, but no joy. I then st...

Re: SMI Documentation ?

Thanks for the input.

Is there really no way to get access to this documentation - officially or otherwise? No snipets of source, no other BC product that uses the same IP? SMI could open the way to an absolute ton of CM derived products.

Re: SMI Documentation ?

The plan was to have a simple way to suck/spit multi-MB chunks of 16bit wide data with the least CPU overhead. Treat the SMI as DMA'able memory mapped I/O interfacing to an existing hardware solution based on an FPGA. See http://www.troika-systems.com for pics of the current system.

SMI Documentation ?

Will the SMI (Secondary Memory Interface) documentation be released any time soon? For me it's become a major stumbling block on using the Compute Module for an industrial application.

Imminent? Within weeks? Within Months? Never?

Regards

Bruce.

Re: Parallel FIFO via SMI/DMA ?

Hi All, Kinda disappointed that this thread hasn't been responded to by anyone with at least some knowledge on the state of SMI. I understand enabling SMI can eat almost the entire 40 pin expansion port, so treads on the toes of HAT support etc, but the A+ (and CM) would have so much potential in em...

SMI? http://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/bcm2835/README.md In particular http://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/bcm2835/BCM2835-ARM-Peripherals.pdf Sorry, SMI is the Secondary Memory Interface peripheral available to map via GPIO ALT functions. DMA d...

Parallel FIFO via SMI/DMA ?

Hi All, Looking into feasibility of using an A+ to chat to a 16bit wide FIFO via the 40 pin header. The SMI interface with DMA appears the way forward for high speed/low CPU usage etc Finding it tricky locating relevant documentation on the SMI registers / usage. Could somebody point me in the right...
