Re: Pixel intensity through GPU in C++

Sorry for the late reply - I'm in process of writing up my project. As I didn't have time to implement all of what 6by9 suggested, the code that I was using in the end is as follows: /* * File: buffer_demo.c * Author: Tasanakorn & ArjnJ * * NOTE: - PIXELS SAVED AT 10,000 THEIR ACTUAL VALUE * -TH...

Re: Pixel intensity through GPU in C++

Ok I've implemented much of what you suggested and I'm now running comfortably at around 90fps, so thank you! However, I now have another problem which is to do with clipping. I find that when I set the gains to 1, through shining a laser diode into the camera, thereby saturating it, the camera then...

Re: Pixel intensity through GPU in C++

Thanks.
The preview is now needed as the the laser heating the silica has a tendency to become misaligned. It therefore needs to be monitored. I'll post a picture soon of the setup if you're interested.

Re: Pixel intensity through GPU in C++

Below is the code I have, working roughly as my aims intended. Please excuse its ugliness - I'm no real programmer. As seen in the code, I need to set the U and V values to zero - using a very time consuming loop. If this is not done, I get a segmentation fault and the error ["ERROR: mmal_queue...

Re: Remove metering

I used your get around, ethanol100 and it works. However as you say there is no way to explicitly set the gains, which is quite important for my application - I'm heating silica fibre with a laser and using the RPi-camera combination for PID temperature control. With the variation in gain, my desire...

Re: Remove metering

I'm afraid that didn't work either. It doesn't seem to be losing all of the manual settings however, as changing brightness does affect the blank preview. Is there any other place where the camera parameters are set? I've attached the whole of my main function: int main(int argc, char** argv) { MMAL...

Re: Remove metering

Thanks for the reply. I've attached the code which corresponds to the settings of the camera, however the sensor does not seem to respond to light when exposure mode is on OFF. Have I called the settings correctly? MMAL_PARAMETER_CAMERA_CONFIG_T cam_config = { { MMAL_PARAMETER_CAMERA_CONFIG, sizeof ...

Remove metering

Hi, I'm trying to use the camera (amongst other things) as a light meter using a Raspivid based program outputting YUV data. It's important that the sensitivity of the sensor does not change and that there is no software compensation to the image. I feel the easiest way to do this is to remove the a...

Re: Pixel intensity through GPU in C++

My current aims are: 1. Specify resolution and high frame rate of camera - we do not need a high resolution (640x480 is fine) but need ~30fps minimum, and if we could exploit the 90fps mode at 640x480, or 320x240 if at all possible that would be desirable; 2. Take raw frame data from camera, convert...

Re: Pixel intensity through GPU in C++

Thanks for the help! I'm currently just wanting to output the numerical values of the pixel intensity to screen/file. They will later be fed to a LabView program via USB-serial for use in a feedback system which will control temperature of silica during welding by CO2 laser. The python code is indee...

Pixel intensity through GPU in C++

Hi all, I have a project in which I need to monitor the pixel intensity from the camera. This is for a real-time (high speed) temperature control feed-back system and so the greater the frame-rate of the camera, the better. I found this program online which uses the Pi's GPU to accelerate image proc...
