Re: can't apt upgrade without breaking Jessie on Zero

thanks, and apologies about the thread mistake, been leaving too many tabs open researching this problem! Here's /etc/network/interfaces # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) # Please note that this file is written to be used with dhcpcd # For static IP, consult /etc/dhcpcd.conf and 'ma...

Re: Dynamode USB Wifi Dongle issues

Thanks guys.

OK, will correct that typo, but bear in mind it was breaking before I changed that setting regardless, will let you know.

Re: kernel errors, what (in the upgrade) would cause this to break, and how can I chase it down?

Re: can't apt upgrade without breaking Jessie on Zero

OK, thanks for the additional advice. I've tried everything you both suggested: disable IPV6, try a different wireless network, edited /etc/modprobe.d/8192cu.conf, all to no avail. I'd really appreciate some more suggestions, it's quite frustrating, this seems like something so fundamental it should...

Re: can't apt upgrade without breaking Jessie on Zero

OK, perhaps I do need drivers, but I've tried this with 3 adapters. And they all work before I apt-get upgrade.
  • Edimax EW-7811Un
  • TOOGOO Sodial MT7601U
  • can't grab the other one right now
Are you saying that all of these could break wifi on upgrade?

Re: can't apt upgrade without breaking Jessie on Zero

Thanks for the advice Dougie, unfortunately that didn't work. Can you explain your suggested fix? I presume it's memory related. I used a fresh install (not NOOBS this time) and the reboot after your suggested dist-upgrade, wifi is dead again. In the syslog the first problem I can see is ifup having...

Re: can't apt upgrade without breaking Jessie on Zero

I've also tried 3 different wifi adapters, it's always the same.

I was wondering if my noobs download had a problem... but it works fine! It's only when I apt-get do things go wrong.

can't apt upgrade without breaking Jessie on Zero

Hello all, I'm tearing my hair out with this one... I've been trying in vain to install a fresh Rasbian Jessie and get imagemagick running, see here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=130873 But I've discovered a more fundamental problem. I've tried this with two memory cards and tw...

Re: Imagemagick failed install - Jessie, Pi Zero

Thanks for that. I suspected it might be a download problem with a previous raspbian install, but I gave up and tried a fresh OS install. Here's what happens when I try the purge: pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get purge imagemagick bison Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading s...

Re: How to use Dropbox on your Raspberry / Utiliser Dropbox

Hello all, Many thanks to those who've written code to solve this, very helpful to my project. Can I make a suggestion for the future? As well as upload / download, I need a script that syncs folders, i.e. list files, check for differences, delete / download as required. I'm not holding my breath fo...

Re: switching LEDs on and off

ah, OK, that makes sense. The bit I still need clarification on is how to turn on the LED and have it interrupted by other events (e.g. project_off), but I presume I can use the except in the following code? try: while 1: for i in range(0, 720, 5): colour( PosSinWave(50, i, 0.5), PosSinWave(50, i, 1...

switching LEDs on and off

Hello, I've used this script here: http://www.henryleach.com/2013/05/controlling-rgb-led-with-raspberry-pi.html to make an RGB LED cycle through colours. Because it uses PWM, you can't just switch the LED pins on and off and leave them. I'd like to use the LED cycling through colours to indicate an ...
