Re: ASUS USB-AC53 Nano | RTL8812BU | EW-7822UNC

Hello, I am trying to get an ASUS USB-AC53 to work with a B+ and I am close but still cannot get the device to appear when I do an ifconfig -a Here are the latest steps I've tried. I would really appreciate it if someone would take a look and provide advice!. Installed latest Raspbian desktop (2017-...

Re: Image stabilization

Hello folks, sorry to post to an older thread, but I thought this would be the best place to capture a learning regarding raspivid --vstab. Using a B+ with the very latest Raspbian (2017-11-29), I ran ... sudo rpi-update ... to make sure I had the latest firmware installed. I have found that when us...

raspivid ROI settings to mimic 1080p FOV for 1280x720

Hello folks, As we know, when we record video with raspivid 1920x1080, the FOV is only partially sampled, a centered subset. When recording in 1280x720, more of the sensor (likely all of it?) is used and so the FOV is much larger. Question (and sorry if this is already on the forum, I did try to sea...

Global Shutter options?

I know the camera module utilizes a rolling shutter. Does anyone know if there are any CSI (non-USB) options for a camera module that has a global shutter? I know the GPU is involved in making the current camera module work, so I assume it's not a trivial module to develop. Anyone have any ideas or ...

Re: Speed issues w/ Tenda W522U usb wifi 5Ghz

I thought I'd post a follow up: I have been getting very good results from these adapters with Raspbian and models A+ and B+. One thing I noticed with these that was a bit confusing at first: When first connecting to my access points, the bit rate reported by the iwconfig utility would always be low...

Re: Image stabilization

Hello 6x9, thanks for the information. Sorry if you thought I was nagging. I appreciate the time you volunteer to continue to make the Pi so awesome. Please advise if you think there is a way I could help with this specific issue? It's a feature I have a need for, so I'd be willing to do some work t...

Re: Image stabilization

Thanks for letting me know re: GPU and source code. Anyone have any advice on how we could follow up more on this topic? Would be great to know if 1) it's a bug that can be fixed, 2) it's a feature in development, or 3) it's a deprecated option.

Re: Image stabilization

Does anyone have any new information on this topic? I also see no reduction in field of view in my stream coming from raspivid -vs. From the source in githut, I see the parameter is taken and passed to MMAL... int raspicamcontrol_set_video_stabilisation(MMAL_COMPONENT_T *camera, int vstabilisation);...

Speed issues w/ Tenda W522U usb wifi 5Ghz

Hello all, I am trying to get a B+ to connect to a 5Ghz 802.11n access point using a Tenda W522U usb wifi adapter. Actually, I can connect to the AP without issue, but the bit rate is very slow (usually 6 Mb/s, sometimes 24 Mb/s). I am expecting ~150 Mb/s, and I can connect to this access point with...
