Re: CYW43455 (3B+, 4B, CM4) WiFi feedback thread

Thanks, Dougie. I would expect changes due to a new clm_blob to take effect immediately (after a reboot) - channels appearing or disappearing, power levels changing etc. - so if it's working for you now it should continue to do so.

Re: CM4: GPIO's, pull, and shutdown

The default pulls are hardwired, i.e. these are the values of the pulls asserted at reset, but they can obviously be changed subsequently. Following the default pulls is useful if trying to avoid glitches on a line, e.g. for the gpio-poweroff signal.

Re: Wrong WiFi Channel lists for China (when setting WiFi Country Code as CN)

Cypress have released a new clm_blob file as an official fix for the problem of missing channels in certain CCs. The new file is available to download here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Isp7iLgM1rmydWPeRST2BfoPCOPSL_r3/view?usp=sharing It will download as brcmfmac43455-sdio.clm_blob.210917, and ...

Re: Overlay with PCA9538 - looking for advice how to initialize/configure I/O

"nxp,inverted-out" just sets the INVRT bit of the MODE2 register, so it is a device-wide setting.

Re: WAKE_ON_GPIO change on CM4

To update the EEPROM config on a CM4: 1. Put a jumper on pin 1 of J2 to disable the EMMC (and/or remove the SD card), and apply the power. 2. Add a USB A<->microUSB cable between the slave port and your chosen usbboot host computer (I'm using a 4B). 3. On the host computer, change directory to the r...

Re: Overlay with PCA9538 - looking for advice how to initialize/configure I/O

Hmmm - the pca9632 driver is a leds driver, not a pwm driver and not even a GPIO driver. As such, what you are trying to do appears to be impossible without rewriting the driver.

Most people will find our Raspberry Pi Imager utility easier, quicker and safer than "dd".

Re: Overlay with PCA9538 - looking for advice how to initialize/configure I/O

Anything related to the node with the label pwm is no longer needed - this means fragments 2 and 3. The existing reference to pwm in fragment 4 has to be replaced with the new PWM provider - pca9632. Where the original PWM was index 0 from "pwm", the new one is index 0 from "pca9632&q...

Re: CM4 Wifi variants won't shutdown

Picking a Wireless and non-Wireless CM4 from stores I find that the Wireless variant has the same EEPROM config as yours, but the non-Wireless version has: pi@raspberrypi:~$ vcgencmd bootloader_config [all] BOOT_UART=0 WAKE_ON_GPIO=0 POWER_OFF_ON_HALT=1 DISABLE_HDMI=0 BOOT_ORDER=0xf41 This differenc...

Re: Overlay with PCA9538 - looking for advice how to initialize/configure I/O

Also would like to know how I need to specify the '__overrides__ {.. }' section in the overlay for Aux1-1 to Aux2-2. This isn't so simple because the options ("output-high" and "output-low") are boolean properties - true if present, false if absent, and there is no way to delete...

Re: Overlay with PCA9538 - looking for advice how to initialize/configure I/O

- what is the best way for configuring the PCA I/O? If by this you mean the pins that you've assigned gpio-hogs to, that would be the recommended way if they are meant to have fixed values for the lifetime of the kernel. If the values may need to be changed at runtime. and if the drive strength is ...

Re: CM4 Wifi variants won't shutdown

I'm going to assume that you are just being precise about your particular CM4s, and not saying that non-WiFi variants behave differently. Please correct me if that isn't the case.

What does "vcgencmd bootloader_config" report?

I made some suggestions yesterday - did you try any?

And next time you get in the failing state, does "i2cdetect -y 10" on its own fix it?

Is it possible to assign a specific device name to a uart, regardless of which other uarts are enabled?
No - the driver allocates them sequentially in the order the device nodes are processed.

Re: RTC in CM4 IO board doesn't work through overlay configuration

It's working for me (the "dtparam=i2c_vc=on" is not necessary - the i2c-rtc overlay enables the required interface). The hwclock command must be run as root, otherwise it complains "Cannot access the Hardware Clock via any known method." The "sudo hwclock -r" returns th...

Either way, you'll need to report the output of "bluetoothctl info" for the headset. I have a SoundCore headset here that supports Headset and Handsfree profiles which works fine.

Re: RTC in CM4 IO board doesn't work through overlay configuration

During booting the firmware uses I2C0 to probe for HATs, but otherwise it is idle (PMIC control is via a "bit-bashed " software-driven I2C bus) except if using a camera or display controlled by the firmware. start_x=1 requests the bootloader to load the full version of the firmware (start_...

Re: Kernel and uboot building on raspberry pi 4b

Try without the line that fatloads the dtb - the firmware has passed U-boot a pointer to the FDT it loaded, and the address should already be in "${fdt_addr}".

Upgrading from a 64-bit Buster RPiOS to one based on Bullseye would be similarly unrecommended and definitely unsupported - proceed at your own risk.
