Official 7" Screen wiring tips
Hi All, So finally I have gotten around to playing with my RPI and 7" screen + case and i have to say after a bit of tweaking its excellent, but I cant help but notice its design could have been better. https://www.modmypi.com/raspberry-pi/cases/7-touchscreen-cases/raspberry-pi-7-touchscreen-di...

Building a RPI CCTV
Hi All, So I am looking to build a RPI CCTV system to monitor the front of our house and I am wondering what bits would be best. I was thinking a RPI3 for the wireless option and speed, a small fast SD card would be ideal for me as I will be backing up most data to my NAS. The camera module is where...

As much as i would love a house full of Pi's the budget is currently stopping me.
Also light programming is very basic python programming.

A mashup project
So I am looking for some inspiration on a sort of mix up project, nothing fancy. So I have a RPi2, A Pi-Dac+ and a waveshare screen and I want to build something for light programming and portable gaming. I dont expect to have the Pi-Dac+ and the screen running at the same time, the screen is for po...

RPI 2 USB getting hot
Hi all,
So I have my RPI2 running via USB 3.0 and was wondering if the ports are supposed to get as hot as they do, although I have a feeling its to do with my Sandisk extreme mini usb drive.
Suggestions
Thanks

Re: Flirc vs Case with fan
I am tempted via this case, its a very nice looking bit of kit and not too expensive to be honest, although I hope the top is aluminum for heat removal. The fan case would be rather good also, but does RPI2 even hit over 50 degrees C? Ill wait for more answers, but either one I will post benchmarks ...

Flirc vs Case with fan
Hi All
So I am looking for a case to go with my RPi gaming system.
So I have a choice between a Flirc and a case called Mepro (This one has a fan), I was also going to get a heatsink with this, and of course the Flirc has one with it.
What would you suggest?

Advice on building a tiny console
Hello RPI Gaming. So I have a new project I want to attempt to build but it involves using a GPIO screen which I am not familiar with at all. The screen I have is https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00YE0UPES/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This screen has a software disc with it al...

Re: Arch or Raspbian
Sorry, thought some of the questions would be considered for beginners.
Anyways I know how to setup Arch Linux on the desktop so I don't expect it to be any different apart from the partitioning and mounting.
What about the screen and GPU drivers? Can they be added in Arch Linux?

Thanks!
Thanks!

Arch Linux and a Screen?
So I got a new RPi2 and a 3.5 screen but I would like to ask some questions
1 - Does arch Linux arm have the same gpu drivers as raspbian?
2 - Would the screen be installed the same as it would with raspbian (screen and touch drivers)?
Thanks

Simply put what size should I get for RPi screen? 3.5 or 4" screen? £16.99 for 3.5" and £23.00 for the 4". Is there any difference between screen or is it just size? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Touch-Screen-Designed-Raspberry-Model/dp/B00YE0UPES/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1454147683&s...

Re: Rpi2 on 25000ma battery
so how many hours do you think I could get out of it, I wouldn't mind adding one of them little screens adafruit sell.
https://www.adafruit.com/products/1601
But at the end of the day is it worth doing this? I think ill use it for some programming and prototyping.
Thanks

Thought for 8 core?
A more powerful all be it more expensive part. 8 Core, 1GB RAM, Gigabit Ethernet, 4GB eMMC? Yes I know the RPi is designed for cheap education, but I am sure there are some of us who wish they could use this as a desktop at some point, maybe even a little tux racer machine :P Do you think something ...

RPi B+ for Programming
I have a RPi B+ just laying around at home and with me beginning programming I was wondering if it was possible to use it in a way that has very little overhead, giving me more resources for my programming. So the question begin this, What OS and what tools should I use to get this done, I wanted to...

Strange RPi2 Project
Okay so I have a weird idea and i have no idea if it would work or for what application it would be useful for, maybe programming in a car on a RPi2 or something lol. Anyways would it work if I used a USB power bank (16000mAh) connected to the RPi2 power port to actually power the device and a scree...

RPi books for programming
I am looking for some books on programming, I would ideally like to start with Python and maybe scratch for a giggle, then move onto C (If you can write C on the RPi) for arduino. I was thinking of using the Learning python on the Raspberry Pi for python, I think scratch would be super simple to sta...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 worth it?
Thanks for the information I was looking at making it a decent desktop. I am unsure if this still happens but would using an external sound source like the Wolfson sound card take pressure off the CPU? or is this not an issue with the Pi2, I know my RPi B+ is rather slow with CPU pegged at 100% most...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 worth it?
I've built a dedicated word processing station out of a RPi2 and it works just fine. I'm going to rebuild it soon on a stripped down Raspbian image since it has a lot of extra stuff I don't need, but other than a slow boot time, it has been a delight. I use a 24 inch display in portrait mode so I'v...

Raspberry Pi 2 worth it?
So I want to use this system as my main programming system, I mostly program python. I will also be using this as a low power desktop, so a little bit of light music while I work. Also would a Samsung M8 1TB external for work storage will the Pi2 power this device okay via USB? I was also thinking a...
