Re: PiZero Roadmap

A quick update. Raspberry PI Zero production is restarting [...]. Good news that is. Lets hope that the distributors drop that "strictly one item per customer" rule any time soon. I need two or three and would like to share the international order with a friend too. We're waiting for four months no...

Re: Unpowered Raspi breaking HDMI-CEC

Mmh, okay. But then again the SDA/SCL lines are pulled-up to 5V by design for the Pi's type B.

Re: Unpowered Raspi breaking HDMI-CEC

The shown schematics reminds me remotely of a protective device I found just the other day - the ST HDMI05-CL01F3. Yet they use two anti-serial zeners to achieve symmetrical break-down of at least 14 volts. The ESD5384 however suggests a break-down voltage of minimum 6 volts. Any reasons to your sug...

Re: Unpowered Raspi breaking HDMI-CEC

Yes, I got that. I found several references to this long-since-gone schematics. Too bad. We'll see what the future brings.

Any comments on the other idea?

Re: Unpowered Raspi breaking HDMI-CEC

I was thinking about a better way than removing those diodes. Checking some other protective circuits of HDMI like the TI TPD5S115 or the TI TPD12S016 I found that those designs shows just clamping to ground and the mandatory pull-up resistor (1K75 for SDA/SCL) and a pull-up resistor for the CEC lin...

Re: Unpowered Raspi breaking HDMI-CEC

Thanks. There is something "like" a schematic at http://www.raspberrypi.org/documentatio ... /README.md but then again it is not that helpful for the B+ type :(

Re: Unpowered Raspi breaking HDMI-CEC

Hi there (and sorry to revive this zombie thread), I've got my Pi (B rev 2, I guess, bought end of last year) connected to a TV set and the CEC issue starts bugging me. So I finally wanted to do something about it. User mahjongg suggested that there would be a clean solution in the next revision bes...
