Running OpenElec From USB

I have looked online and everything I see requires you to get Openelec from a zip file and all I see is image files so is it still possible to make it so you can run most of Openelec off of a USB to put less stress on an SD Card ?

Re: Remote Access To OpenElec

I reinstalled the OS onto another Card and restarted that.. I think it might be doing it when I haven't been on OpenElec for a while and the screen goes darker I need to maybe make sure it stays online to see if that works.

I only ask about the XMBC because I like the ability to control it using my Wifi Smartphone with an app. Can you do the same in Openelec ? This is also why I am wanting to put both onto the 16g Sd Card

Re: Dual OS's on Same SD Card

I've got a question the XMBC that people are refering to is RaspMBC the same as in will it use the remote app that you can put on your phone (For when I do connect to Wifi on my raspberry) along with playing movies straight from USB ?. I was pondering doing Openelec and Raspmbc.

Wow thanks that is actually a great link and opens up my options instead of just converting everything into just the one codec. Re: Video codec

I've had bad experience on some places ( One that is a Raspberry group ) where if you ask questions you get yelled at for not searching and how easy it was to find the answer if you search for it. I tried searching before I asked the question but a friend of mine was able to find a post on here that...
