SFTP/SSH is a quick way to copy and execute code from workstation PC to RPi. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, some good tips !! TrevorAppleton the guide on your blog is very good. I think you gave me the solution i was looking for. I've installed TextWrangler, configured it for remote access to the pi and opened a ssh in witch i will test my program !

Hy, I just want to know what you guys use to write your GPIO pytho scripts ? IDE? code on another machine then just transfer to raspberry, or code in nano text editor ? I'm writing my small programs, GPIO scripts with the help of nano at the moment. But would be great to use a IDE on a faster machin...

Thanks to everyone who tried to help ! Finally i'v sorted it out, it was a lose weld on pin 15 of the display.. next time i'll be sure to check better before burning my brains out with what could it be. I was measuring on pins 15-16 and getting corect voltage, but it was never getting to de display....

i am sorry mahjongg as i was not clear in my explanation, i am connecting the +5 v from the pi to pin 15 on the display. after the reboot everithing came on as normal. so nothing is fried ! although i was a bit scared :shock: i am staring to wonder now if the display might be defective. any way to c...

Thanks for your quick response.

unfortunately it's not. one more thing i have noticed, at some point upon connecting pin 15 to +5 the raspberry's power drained out and the raspberry rebooted. this happened only once though ...
