Re: The element of surprise

To listen to some people you would think that the launch of the Pi2 stopped all the B+s bought in the last month to suddenly stop working have you met human beings before? :) If you'd bought 10 B+ week last monday - you'd be a bit peeved at least :) If you had £2K B+ in stock in your company -you'd...

Re: Model B 256 vs 512

Always a good idea for programs to work OK on last years model as that is actually the majority of your user base normally (MS would concur on that statistic) Now - we do have a problem in that we have the current A+ with 256MB and the 2B with 1G Common sense says target the B+ for OK operation and ...

Re: The element of surprise

Nobody wants to be left holding 10,000 of last year's model. There's no doubt that there must be a compromise way between total openness and total secrecy Human nature is to be disappointed in buying something one month to find a better model next month at same price. Firms who were not in on the s...

Re: The Raspberry Pi 2 Q&A thread

@hayder
All the GPIO libs are having to be re-written and since they are all by volunteers/enthusiasts they have to do it in their spare time

WiringPi has been done but RPi.GPIO and Joan's lib not there yet

:)

I mean - how accurate do you need :)

What's it needed for - sub-microm electron scanning or a case that fits OK with a big of jiggling?

:)

PS Thingverse cases give good information

Tau :-) I like that as I am a Tau man Wwho wants to wast time multiplying unnecessarily by 2 - you can gain an extra 20% of your life if you a mathematician or engineer by the time saved on not writing 2x and pressing 2x on a calculator :) But the Foundation probably have trademarked that for the n...

New baby's nickname?

We have
A
B
(with various Rev sub cats)
B+
A+

What is agreed shorthand for this one
B2
2B
2B+
B+2
.....

This is the important question - forget compatility issues and how fast does the pram travel! :)

Please make prosilver the default

I don't know if anyone prefers the standard forum layout - maybe they do - but I've not met anyone who does if this is a widely held sentiment - how about defaulting it to prosilver ? The reason for this request is so that I don't have to login on a strange manchine (school -other peoples etc) just ...

Re: Neo-Pixel controller boad

I'm struggling with this one to see why a controller is needed

I've driven NEoPixel rings without anything else other than 3 wires

I can see need to feed in beefier power supply if I want to drive more of them but not a "controller"

What am I not seeing here?
