Re: OpenELEC vs Raspbmc?

I chose OpenELEC- Not because it's any faster (it doesn't seem to be), but because I'm berrybooting into both it and retropie, and I wanted to conserve space. I've been struggling with this setup for a couple of days... can you give us a rundown on how you managed to get the BerryBoot with OpenELEC...

Re: Disappointed with RPi 2B - ideas for new version?

Nothing wrong with having differing views on it. There is, however, something really messed up about saying someone's opinion is stupid just because you don't share it. Personally, I'm still learning (!) to use the features the current incarnation has, but I can see how some people might want more. ...

Re: Disappointed with RPi 2B - ideas for new version?

On the whole this is a great community. A lot of really smart, helpful people... until you post a criticism. Granted, the RPi was originally intended as an educational tool. It outgrew that before it even launched. It's surpassed the educational market and become a staple of Makers everywhere. Is it...

Re: BerryBoot and RetroPie

Well, after a good four hours, a lot of caffeine, and a ridiculous amount of stubborn ignorance I managed to get a working image file. I'll share it here for anyone else that wants to do this. There's still some issues (I haven't gotten my USB SNES controllers to work yet), but at least it's running...

Re: Help BerryBoot no boot !

I had a similar problem. I copied the files to the SD Card three separate times, no love. In the end I used the image file that's posted on the BerryBoot site (http://sourceforge.net/projects/berryboot/files/berryboot-cubieboard-beta6.zip/download) and used WinDiskImager to burn it to the SD Card. B...

BerryBoot and RetroPie

I've done quite a bit of searching and can't find a Linux newb-friendly answer to this... So, as the title suggests, I want to run RetroPie off the same SD Card as another OS (OpenELEC in this instance). I've come across quite a few partial threads on it, and at least one where a guy stated that he ...

Re: Matching RasPi, HDD, & USB Hub cases?

Yup, saw that one. Not quite what I'm looking for, though. I'm really surprised at how difficult this is to source. I've been looking for external hard drive enclosures that are made from similar materials to available raspberry pi cases, USB hubs, etc... color isn't a big deal since I'd be fine wit...

Matching RasPi, HDD, & USB Hub cases?

Ok, I've searched and searched and have been unable to find an answer so I'm just going to ask. I'm looking to set up a Retro Game/Media Center build using a RasPi, a 2.5" USB HDD, & a USB Hub (Probably four port, maybe seven). I'm kinda OCD when it comes to stuff matching so I'd really like to find...

Re: There's a little update from Eben on the front page...

<t>Looks like it's going to be a late night for me. It's currently a little past 3AM in the UK, 10:11PM here, which means I'm probably going to have to be up until at least 3AM, if not later. Hope y'all get the sales going bright and early so I don't have to forgo a nights (days) sleep! Thansk for t...

Re: Two easy questions

First, will I be able to use a wireless KB and Mouse out of the box with Fedora?

Second, will a powered USB hub give me enough juice to handle the Rpi, a USB HD, and a USB DVD-ROM?

Re: My plans for RaspberryPi...

<t>Definitely different. I'm going for a cheap and easy version of the NES PC Mod that's been around as long as the ITX form factor. It should eliminate the problems of heat, and make a sweet little media center/nettop. Don't really see the point in keeping the original guts when the Rpi can emulate...

I'm planning on gutting a laptop, putting the DVD-ROM in like that, USB HD, USB Hub, etc. It'll be a media center and retro game console, all for around $150!
