Re: Pure Python camera interface

Thanks for the hard work ... Cracking job! ... this interface makes the Pi really versatile for Computer Vision projects (and easy to use too!)

Re: Camera flash driver released

You don't say how low you intend to go on frame rate, so I don't know how much of a strobing you would get as the flash must be on for the entire time the frame is being exposed, and that is extended due to using a rolling shutter. I'm using sensor mode 5, 12fps and shutter speeds below 1ms. If in ...

Re: Camera flash driver released

Great stuff... it works a treat for still captures in Picamera v1.10 ! Is there any possibility of making this work during video recording ? I'd like to trigger a powerful LED drive circuit to expose the video frames while using low frame rates and high shutter speeds. Using a strobe effect should d...

Accessing GPIO via SYSFS changed after update?

By tweaking a few permissions, I used to be able to export and set direction & value of GPIO pins using sysfs WITHOUT running scripts as ROOT. Today, after an update & upgrade this no longer works. In fact the whole sysfs gpio structure appears to have changed! The symlinks in /sys/class/gpi...

Re: What is the Rolling Shutter Frequency?

Great info, thanks! Just to check ... Is "sensor mode" the same as the modes listed here? : http://picamera.readthedocs.org/en/release-1.7/fov.html#camera-modes Also, one Product Brief for the OV5647 sensor claims it has both Rolling and Global Shutter features. Cameras with this capability are typi...

What is the Rolling Shutter Speed?

Does anyone know what the Rolling Shutter Frequency is for the camera module? ... and is it fixed or does it vary depending on exposure parameters? Say for example I record video using a fixed shutter speed (exposure time) of 1/1000 sec. per frame at 30 fps ... how long does it take the rolling shut...

Re: Pure Python camera interface

Thanks for this fantastic interface Dave ... I love the documentation and examples! While using the http://picamera.readthedocs.org/en/release-1.7/recipes1.html#capturing-consistent-images example, I noticed the exposure of the resulting images dropped exponentially. Looking at the EXIF data, the sh...
