Re: web filter on single raspberry pi

(you can set that individually or set your router/ DHCP to give out that DNS) Not all routers can be made to do that. Routers supplied by ISPs with their customised firmware often have no option to give out any DNS server address other than the one(s) chosen by the ISP. sorry - should have mentione...

web filter on single raspberry pi

Hi, I would like to setup web filtering on a raspberry pi which my kids will be using. I've been reading and researching on the topic and what I have found tends to rely on using another raspberry pi as a physically separate proxy server. My OH gets a bit twitchy about extra gadgets and wires around...

Always request password when using sudo

Hi, I would like to setup the default pi account in such a way that it still has the ability to use sudo for installing packages but each time sudo is used it automatically asks for a password. This is for my young son's first Pi where I would like him to learn about using sudo but rely on me to inp...

Sorting a python dictionary

Hi,

I've been trying to find a simple way to sort the values of a python dictionary and then have both keys and values printed out. Working in python 3.4

e.g. go from:

Code: Select all

sampleDict = {'objectE' : 5 , 'objectA': 7 , 'objectC' : 1}
to output

objectC : 1
objectE : 5
objectA : 7

Thank you

Re: WiFi Captive Portal

http://sirlagz.net/2013/08/23/how-to-captive-portal-on-the-raspberry-pi Found that tutorial but it is based on the Pi acting as the access point as well. I want the Pi to connect to a separate access point and manage that. Essentially do what WifiDog http://www.wifidog.org or chillispot http://www....

WiFi Captive Portal

Hi, I'm trying to see whether I can get a Pi to function as a WiFi captive portal. I've found a number of projects which involve getting the Pi setup first as an access point and then setup the captive portal software on it. Instead I would like to connect the Pi to the access point and use it to ma...
