Re: use omxplayer to streaming youtube

TBOPlayer can do that in a very easy manner. Try it out. It can also find lyrics for your music tracks. https://github.com/KenT2/tboplayer

Re: TBO Player Playlists

Hi,

Did you go to options -> edit and change the play mode? Single play mode, the default play mode, is meant to work as you described.

TBOPlayer: looking for translators for the GUI

From an issue at http://github.com/KenT2/tboplayer : "TBOPlayer has just gained an internationalization system for itself, but is still lacking the translation files. If you have interest in contributing with a translation", have a look at the issue for instructions: https://github.com/KenT2/tboplay...

Editing mimeapps.list

Hi,

I would like to know if it's a correct approach to directly edit the file $HOME/.config/mimeapps.list in order to programmatically configure file associations, or if there's a better way to do it.

Thanks!

Re: TBO Player Playlists

Now that I found time to look at this, I could not reproduce your problem. I was able to save and then open a playlist with 8 items, and another with 4 items. Can you show me your playlist created by TBOPlayer? Also, if you did not download the player from https://github.com/KenT2/tboplayer , then y...

Re: RPi 3 won't boot correctly after setting video memory

I can't access raspi-config again because the OS won't give me the chance to use the console, since it's hanging. It starts booting normally, but the problem arises (flashing blank screen just showing the cursor) when it starts the desktop. I don't know how to change the memory split setting in this...

RPi 3 won't boot correctly after setting video memory

Hi,

My shiny new RPi 3 running Raspbian Jessie won't go into desktop anymore after I set the video memory to 128MB using the raspi-config tool. After restarting, it'll just stays there, flashing a black screen with the text cursor on top. What's the matter?

Thanks,

Re: TBO Player Playlists

Are you trying to open a saved playlist? Or you are just trying to open some kind of file and add it to the playlist? What kind of file is that (which extension)?

Possible bug with python 2.7

Hi, First I found a bug in a python program, then tried to investigate the cause and in the course I may have found a problem with python 2.7 interpreter. The program in question is watchcartoononline-dl ( https://github.com/yasoob/watchcartoononline-dl/blob/master/watch-dl.py ). It's a simple piece...

Yes, you're right. That was a mistake on my part, from last time I edited this file. I will fix that. Thank you too!

Re: TBO Player won't install

Weird.
Does the shortcut file end with extension .desktop? Do you have other working shortcuts in your Desktop?
Also, does TBOPlayer run if you type just "tboplayer" in the terminal?

Re: TBO Player won't install

You are trying to run the setup with sudo, are you not? Please, don't! TBOPlayer must be installed with a normal user, not super user.

Re: drand48 give segfault

Thank you both.

Yes, it is multi-threaded ATM. However, I'll have to remove the threads anyway. Does that have anything to do with it? I mean, I know srand48 has to be called for every thread, but this segfault occurs in the main thread, before any other thread is created.

drand48 give segfault

Hi, I'm trying to use the function drand48, but when I call it, it causes a segmentation fault. I do put in the top of my source file: #define _XOPEN_SOURCE #include <stdlib.h> And I do call srand48(long_int_var); before calling drand48. Calling the function rand (after srand) is also causing segmen...

Re: TBO Player won't install

As I said, that line "import youtube_dl" does not exist in the tboplayer program at KenT2's repository, meaning that you didn't download this version from KenT2's repository. The fact that the same error persists means that tboplayer.py in /home/pi/tboplayer is still the wrong version. Type this in ...

Re: TBO Player won't install

If that don't work for you, it maybe because you already had a tboplayer folder in /home/pi/. In that case, remove this folder and try again the commands above.

Re: TBO Player won't install

These instructions are old and don't reflect the current instructions at https://github.com/KenT2/tboplayer All you have to do to install tboplayer is copy-paste these two lines in the terminal: cd ~ && wget https://github.com/KenT2/tboplayer/tarball/master -O - | tar xz cd KenT2-tboplayer-* && chmo...

Re: TBO Player won't install

Hi Bob, import youtube_dl There's no such line in tboplayer code at github.com/KenT2/tboplayer. You must be using a tboplayer downloaded from somewhere else. What exactly are you typing into the terminal? Also, if you use the installer, you don't have to call python tboplayer.py , just tboplayer is ...

The TBOPlayer is now a really complete GUI for omxplayer, capable of playing videos in a window, seek position with the help a progress bar, integration with youtube and other streaming services, including a "youtube search" feature, and more.

Re: is python requests preinstalled?

Thank you all dudes! My personal experience with pip is that it installs bleeding edge packages, much less stable than apt-get ones, thus I'd rather avoid using it in a setup script, but installing pexpect from apt-get resulted in ptyprocess not being found when pexpect tried to load it, so I'm usin...
