433Mhz Light Switch Questions

Hi, I'm looking at using a pi and 433mhz transciever to setup some home automation and control 433mhz light switches. I can find alot of information on the web to setup the PI and transceiver however I am struggling to work out how many switches I can control independantly. I see alot of systems off...

Re: Shairport Metadata

I still haven't finished my project but I opted to use the version of shairport that allowed metadata to be saved to a txt file. Link to ths version is here: https://github.com/dangerjain/shairport If you look back through my posts you will see the init.d script I used for startup which automaticall...

Webiopi Change Button Label

hi, I am looking for examples on how to change a Button label in webiopi depending on the GPIO pin state. I have tried searching but can't seem to find anything that shows a simple example of how to utilise the setLabel function. I have two uses for this the first is to change the label of a button ...

Re: MJPG-Streamer will only work on YUYV format

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I just stumbled across the patch myself after posting. I have carried out the patch and can now get it running perfectly using MJPG rather than YUYV.

Thanks again :D

MJPG-Streamer will only work on YUYV format

Hi, I have been playing with MJPG-Streamer. I have succesfully managed to get mjpg installed and working with my Microsoft lifecam HD-5000 however on my raspberry pi 2 with Raspbian installed it will only give me a stream and snapshots if I use the -y command on my startup script forcing the camera ...

Re: In Car Pi Airplay

Hi, I am currently working on a project to integrate airplay in my car (along with a few other things). I can't comment on the performance of the A+ as I don't have one however I have model B, B+ and one of the new RPi 2 and they call all handle airplay over wifi. There's several good sets of instru...

Looping audio input back to output realtime

Hi, I have a little USB sound card connected to my pi with a mic input and stereo output. I would like to audio in through the mic port from a FM reciever module (SI4703) then be able to send it back out via the stereo output. I don't have the FM module yet however I can record an audio clip using a...

Re: Shairport Metadata

Sounds like an interesting project. I like the idea of converting the metadata into a jpg image. My project is to integrate modern necessities into my 1989 VW Golf convertabile whilst keeping it as original looking as possible. The plan is to have 1 16x2 LCD fitted into a period cassette player to d...

Re: Shairport Metadata

It looks as though you have nearly cracked it. Think I'll have to pull my project out of the drawer and try the FIFO method again. I think your probably right in that the FIFO method would save polling for the information every other second which is a nice clean way to work things. Having said that ...

Re: Shairport Metadata

Hi, Looks as though your getting confused at the same point I was. I couldn't work out how to use the FIFO file either and in the end decided it was a bit beyond my current knowledge to try and learn how to use it. Here's a link to the shairport version that I ended up using: https://github.com/dang...

Re: Shairport Metadata

Hi, Thanks for your detailed reply. I had given up on my initial process as it was starting to look a little out of my depth. I did however find a version of shairport that saved the metadata in a txt file along with the album art which I was able to deal with and satisfied my needs. I was really on...

Shairport Metadata

Hi, Not sure if this is the correct place to post this or not. I have a raspberry pi setup with Shairport and would like to pull the metadata info. I can manually run the service using shairport -M command and have the now_playing file and album art save to a specified directory however I would like...
