creating an app for the RPi (webserver)

Hi guys, Got a question; I want to operate a machine. I want to turn a bunch of different relays on and off in different orders, so I they need to be programmable. For this project I'll be using a rpi and a touchscreen, got the touchscreen working with the pi, and for now I've been using a lighttpd ...

power relay external

Hi Guys, I'm working on a system with a RPI and relays. Yesterday finally my 16ch 5v relay arrived. Because of the amount of relays, I connected it to an external power supply. I connected the 5v to the vcc (jd-vcc) and the ground to the ground of my rpi and the ground of my external power supply. O...

Re: connect a lot to the rpi?!

You should really look at solid state relays for switching line voltages. The advantages over mechanical relays are: - UL/CE approved - directly drivable from the Rpi +3 volt GPIO pins. No interfacing. -silent in operation - zero crossing switching - opto isolated Thanks Richard, But I read somethi...

Re: connect a lot to the rpi?!

@PeterO Thanks Peter, Actually I'm controlling some 0.05A devices, but the relay board I found are 10A max relays. Othen than that, i'll be using 2 devices that can use like 12A. That's why I use the 30A certified relays, just to make sure I dont fry anything. So in the end I'll be using like 13A at...

connect a lot to the rpi?!

Hi guys, I want to connect quite a lot to the RPI. I want to connect 11 x 10A relays, 2 x 30A relays, 2 float switches and a temp sensor. I have a few questions about this. Since I use a lot of GPIO connections, I thought the RPI B+ is the way to go, is this correct? I've ordered an Optocoupler rela...

Re: Connecting a lot of boards

Thx!
But how, there's Just 17 gpoi ports.
Will it work if I connect the sensors and a few relays to the gpoi ports, and the rest of the relays with the USB cable, to a USB relay?

Can that work?

Connecting a lot of boards

Hi, Im fairly new to the rpi. For automation I want to connect a few water sensors, a water- temperature sensor, and 13 relays to it. It is quite a hard probably, but I want to make it work. So my question is, is it possible to connect al that to 1 pi? And of so, how Do i Do it? I've found a few rel...

Controlling relay using a RPi and Android Tablet

Hi guys, Lately I've been busy on a new project. I want to be able to open and close a few relays and read the temperature. In oder to do so, I figured, I could use a RPI. But I want to be able to control the opening and closing of the relays and reading of the temperature by using a tablet. What I ...
