Re: A Robot for RoboCup Junior with image processing - with code

Hello Arne, Thank you for your reply! I have been trying to analyse the code and remove the piece of code that i do not require, but i have reached a road block. Your entire application detects and follows the line, furthermore does object tracking as well. I am just looking to detect if the path a...

Re: A Robot for RoboCup Junior with image processing - with code

Hello Sudharshani, Nice to hear you like my project :). Probably the most difficult part of developing your program will be getting the code compiled and running. I know that my code runs on the Raspberry Pi 3. I suggest you try to get my program up and running on your Raspberry Pi. Once compiled an...

Hi Rexry,

thank you for posting about the issue!
I've added some new links in the README. It should work now.
I'm glad you enjoyed reading my article!

Re: HELP: My webcam feed is very slow using opencv

Hi, the Raspberry Pi has not much processing power. However, in C++ I'm able to get 15fps colour at 320x240, to give you some idea of the speed that's possible. I suppose the model 2 will do it much faster (~x6). so: 1. Use a low resolution like 320x240. 640x480 is around 4 times slower. 2. More imp...

Re: Choosing the best board

Hi i'm new in this forum and i hope to write in the right session. Anyway I have to build up a robot for the rcj rescue A competition and I'd like to know what is the best board for raspberry pi 2 model B that can manage motors and sensors in the same board. Hi! Welcome to the RPi forum. I particip...

Re: Underwater ROV

Hi Jake, Now, I am getting ambitious and looking to build a Remote Operated Submarine Nice project! Not a simple however, but should be possible. A tethered solution may be best. Radio waves don't travel well underwater. Lower frequencies like 40MHz (used in RC modelling) will do a meter or so, depe...

Re: I have raspberry Pi camera raspivid problem

Hi,
It might be possible you're running old software on your RPi.
Did you try "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade"?
Best,

Re: I need advice and help

Hi, some hints: - use the RPi camera module - it has a 5Mp resolution and interfaces digitally over hardware with the RPi. - for the image recognition openCV can be used, either programming in C or in python. Some time ago I used this source , but in one of the last MagPi magazines there was an arti...

Re: New to Pi (Stroke Counter)

Hi! Yes, your project is perfectly possible... but my opinion is that this isn't a very good use of a Raspberry Pi, as it is capable of much more difficult tasks. So - I think an Arduino or Dwengo microcontroller board is more suited for your task. It also consumes less power and doesn't run an OS. ...

Re: Would need help with Robot...

What the Pi needs to do, is be able to drive 6 servos, two normal DC Motors (One for steering, one for actually moving the vehicle. A Lego mindstorms kit is used for the frame and motors.) and be controlled by a DualShock SixAxis PS2/PS3 controller. Recommendations on program language, software, an...

Try

Code: Select all

g++ -lopencv_core -lopencv_highgui -lopencv_imgproc example.cpp -o example
And then run

Code: Select all

./example

Re: Live video

Using the RPi and Pi camera with some VR glasses might be interesting if data overlay is necessary. And by putting some sensors on the rider's head and mounting the camera on a pan and tilt servo mount, the rider can look around.

Re: How to connect rain sensor?

Hi, someone used a similar sensor - so you might want to read his thread first. Using extra chips makes things more complicated though. from the (very clear) description on DX I understand that - the module works with 5V levels - it has a digital (DO) and an analog output (AO) - there's a LED that s...

Hi,
A small tip: Long headers like these can free up some space to make older expansion boards for the B useful on the B+, like the PiFace or this one for example.

Maybe take a look at what shops offer, for example modmypi and what tutorials (e.g. these from the foundation ) there are. For making your list it might be handy to distinguish the use of the sensors: robot, weather station, ... The Pi camera can also be considered as a sensor. My guesses: For robot...

But don't forget that a 12W solar panel will deliver that 12Watts only with a blue sky and the right orientation - but it depends a bit on where you live in the USA.
