Re: Stuck using MMAL to encode image from cpu data buffer

Hi, very interesting
do you have any benchmarking about GPU compression vs CPU compression using libjpeg for exemple :?:
thanks.

MMAL JPEG encoder "luma only" ?

Hi world,

does the GPU JPEG encoder used in userland (raspistill for exemple) allow encoding in gray JPEG ?
(produce only luma picture and not RGB 'grayed' picture) ?

Thanks :D

Re: Raspistill -s signal mode

Hello world, since my last post, I have wrote my program and it works fine, but it's slow to write a file from raspiyuv, then open this file from my program, edit it and write it again ... It's time to go deeper ... yes DougieLawson : you said it  I have copy 'userland-master' from GIT onto...

Re: Raspistill -s signal mode

Hello, thanks for your answer. Why not pull the source code for raspistill and add your new function to it rather than trying to write a wrapper? Mainly because I'm too lazy to start deep study of userland code ... But, after quick read, looks like raspistill use temp file name for writting a...

Raspistill -s signal mode

Hi world, I'm trying to use the raspistill signal mode to trigger frame grab from my c++ program. Question : how could I know that raspistill have finish to grab the frame after sending USR1 signal to it ?? = the jpeg file is ready to be read from my program and raspistill is ready for next USR1 sig...

simple RO headless pi zero system

Hi world, I have build a small camera system based on a PI zero + Camera v2. I want to make it a true read-only system the simplest way, no more update needed, no file writing ... I'm using the last Strech version and all tutorials are about 'overlay'. Can't I just use simple way like : > disable sw...

Which is faster : "GPIO 8b FIFO" or "TTL UART" ?

Hi world, as the title (may) indicates, I have a question about Data read/write rates. The goal in 2 words : send/receive data from/to a computer using USB cable, C/C++ program. The global purpose is to receive/send files over USB, so the data rate is the main subject. For this, I've selected 2 FTDI...

- patch apply = done
- new src build = done
- running new executable = in progress

... The test program is running since now ... let's sleep ... ;)

I have sent an email to dev about this.

Many thanks for your help jeanleflambeur & DougieLawson.
