Question on zipping and uploading a file

Hi, I am not sure if this belongs in the "advanced" forum. I would like an opinion if the following is the best way to do what I intend. That is: once a day on an odd minute, zip and upload a file from my raspberry to my web server. The file is a SQlite file (xxx.sdb) which is updated by a program r...

Re: Another mail problem

Solved! When I installed Sendmail and then uninstalled it, it apparently left a few files behind.
Once I found and eliminated them, no more unwanted emails.

Another mail problem

My initial problem with the Pi2 not sending an email via a cron has been solved, but now there is a new problem. Now I get 2 emails every 20 minutes as follows: email #1: root <[email protected].com> 2:40 PM (16 minutes ago) to root, bcc: postmaster /usr/share/sendmail/sendmail: 899: /usr/share/sendmail...

Re: Mail not working

ame; Thank you!!! You know more than you think you know. The problem was solved by copying the "scrambled" AuthPass from the B+ to the Pi2 ssmtp.conf file. A suppose when I originally installed smtp on the B+, it went through the "2 step" authentication process with Gmail, but that didn't happen wit...

Re: Mail not working

ame: Thank you for your reply. I will show you the errors and log snippets that I get. For reference, raspi is the B+ where mail is working; raspi2 is the Pi2 on which the mail is not working. A brief history; I first installed Postfix and when that did not work, I uninstalled it and replaced it wit...

Mail not working

I have a RasPi B+ which I have configured to periodically send an email to my Gmail account on the status of a particular file . I do not remember which program I installed for email. I have just gotten a RasPi2, and I want to have it perform the exact same operation. On the new Pi, I installed ssmt...

Viewing HTML file on Pi from another computer on network

Hello, I am a new user. I am running a weather program (Weewx) on the Pi, and I have a question on network access. The weather program creates an HTML web page which it updates every 30 seconds. This is accessible from the Pi by opening one of the included web browsers and going to: http://localhost...
