Looks really nice however from your blog it looks way too big, don't see how the ports are accessed.

Good luck with that but I'm 99.99% sure nothing will come of it, it's just too big an undertaking for small groups never mind individuals. It's not just the basic OS it's all the API and then apps.

Re: Case alternative in the works

I like the open design. I cannot understand why people want to "lock up" their pi in a closed case. The 4 legs would avoid the cables to pull the pi in any direction. I would give some proper thought to the clipping and un-clipping of the pi to the case. Should be easy (both ways) but still not com...

My Dad's Ohio Scientific Superboard II, we had the posh 8KB model and was housed in a cut down bread bin!

Re: Hub and power with one plug

I bought a D-Link DUB-H7 which does the job nicely. It has a mode where 2 ports get 1.2A (for charging purposes) and the other 5 get the standard 0.5A. The wiki says "7-Port USB Hub DUB-H7 (Prevents ethernet from being recognised so wrong time & no IP address)." so is the wiki wrong and it actually...

Re: Java or Mono for basic GUI rPi apps?

Personally I can't stand Java, so out of it and c# it would be no contest. Had a look a time back at Python GUI under Windows and it was pretty horrible (the look not the programming) would probably be better under Linux but haven't investigated yet.

When I was deciding a while back the consensus was to stick with v2, especially true when you start looking for libraries and find many don't (yet) support v3.

Re: the lack of ubuntu on the RPi and canonicals POV

<t>Interesting. Good argument that all the arm 7 boards together haven't sold as many as the RPi did in one day. You'd think that they'd want to get on the RPi "bandwagon". Having said that I'm quite happy with Fedora and am not sure if Ubuntu would add anything extra but choice is always good.<br/>...

Re: Linux before the Pi arrives

<t>Although popular I don't see the point in using Ubuntu if you want to learn a version of linux that will be used on the RPi as it won't be (and from what I read may never run on it). I've recently downloaded the Fedora XFCE remix as Fedora is the "official" Rpi distro and made notes on how I've c...
