Re: For MrEngman --> tp-link WN821N driver
Many, many thanks. From other searches, I knew MrEngman was generously helping the community like this. The driver worked on the first try with no missteps. I can't give a full throated endorsement of this USB WiFi dongle. The performance was seriously not good on both my Windows and Ubuntu laptops....

Re: Wooden case for Pi Zero W and Hifiberry Pi DAC Zero Hat
I really try to avoid the 'Bay. I was hoping that since many of your other cases were available on Amazon, this one would be too. Please let me know if it gets there. I realize this is a niche market, so thanks in advance.

Re: Raspbian Lite Stretch image size
Q1) I zero fill the free space so I can compress it more effectively later. I keep a fair amount of backups and since the SD cards in my "production" systems are 32 GB, a full image is 32 GB. It adds up pretty quickly. I can get them down to less than 2GB if they are zero filled first. Q2)...

Raspbian Lite Stretch image size
I've been using the Pi's for a few years now, I've got 10 of them. The two new ones are Pi Zero W's. With the release of Stretch I wanted to install the latest Lite version. For that purpose I picked up some 8 GB Micro SD's since I barely use over 2 GB on my Jessie Lite systems, 8 GB is a nice balan...

Re: Remote desktop connection with raspberry pi
While I respect that Dougie Lawson knows _WAY_ more about Linux in general and the Pi in particular than I do, RealVNC is the problem when using XRDP with Jessie. I'm confident that this will get fixed, but in my experience, as of today tightvnc is the solution. Just verify that the 4/10/2017 2.4 im...

Re: wipe unused space on SDcard?
Thanks for that - I'll give it a try.
I'd love it if there was a daemon that ran in the background and zero'd out free space when the system was largely idle.

I know I'm terribly late to the party. I'm just reading through this article and it shows some promise:
