Thank you Dave,
I got home and it ran first time with no issues.
The URL - https://www.piwheels.hostedpi.com/simple/ was blocked when I tried on a PC also at school (Smoothwall warning message). So this looks to have been the problem.

Problems with OpenCV
I am trying to run the full test of the code and had some problems. I started with a clean install to build up and get a list of the install commands for the entry form. Unfortunately now I can't get OpenCV to install. I have been using the instructions from the email 2 week warning: sudo apt-get up...

Yes the physical computing element might be tricky if load balancing.

Re: After Scratch, what's next?
We have been using Pic Logicator with our Y8 students to do some robotics using microbots (not on the Pi shock horror!). It allows students to make a program using a flow sheet style drag and drop interface. It seems to be a good tool to get the students thinking about algorithms initially. You can ...

Re: Lots of Headless Pi
It will be a mix of different age kids.
The reason for headless is the lack of keyboards, mice and monitors that are available.
it does introduce an extra step (and therefore complexity) but means we can actually get going whilst we search for the kit we require (or secure funding).

Re: Lots of Headless Pi
Unfortunately I haven't got hold of the kit i was looking for, hence the plan to go headless. I hadn't thought of using cables! (face palm) That could be a great idea to avoid a congested WAP and could well work out cheaper. I think the confusion over which pi to connect to wouldn't be to bad as the...

Lots of Headless Pi
Does anyone have any experience of running several headless RPi at the same time in a classroom over WiFi I am looking at 15 RPi(and 15 laptops trying to program them) Is is too slow to use? Ok if only using SSH? Great and can cope with VNC? I am interested to hear from anyone who has tried this. I ...

Re: Looking for monitors, keyboards and mice
Thank you for all your suggestions
The sessions are being run in a venue without existing computers (not at school) so unable to make use of the existing kit.
Hopefully I can find somewhere doing some upgrades and looking to dispose of the old kit.
Thanks again
Bizz

You could go for the lowtech - count them out and count them back in again?
Then store them somewhere secure at night / when not in use.

Re: primary electronics from piacademy 3
This looks like a really good idea to make physical computing more accessible without simplifying it too much. They will still be building a circuit so I don't see the objection to removing the breadboard. It is not just KS1/2 pupils who may have fine motor control issues, this could be a great idea...

Take full advantage of the second day to test, tinker and create.
There are not many courses that offer this sort of opportunity to consolidate what you have learnt and put ideas into practice with help on hand from the team.
