Does anyone have an idea of how hard it is to send images to the display? Can I just select an image/text and it will display it? Or will one have to worry about re-sizing, correct format etc?

You can start just the browser without desktop from the console: xinit /usr/bin/web But I think a much better option is to use pure openbox xinit /usr/bin/openbox-session Most important fix for me to make the pi usable and more responsive for desktop use was the addition of this kernel option to /b...

hi, I'm interested in trying out your browser, as I'd like to use the pi as a simple browsing pc.
Can it be made even faster using the trick described here, in the answer from goldilocks?
And, what does that file do exactly? Does it load just the browser in X, and not the desktop environment?
