RPi.GPIO is best run within one script pigpio is better suited to interacting with GPIO pins being used from multiple scripts Had a look at pigpio, which definiatly looks nicely set-up. Will make an effort to port my code to pigpio and hope this helps. Would still be nice if someone here can confir...

Hi all, I am running two scripts that both use RPi.GPIO reading two pins (wired to an encoder). The pins both have an event_detect set on them to trigger action. I've tried both hrvoj's and paulv's method. For my cheapo Aliexpress encoder, both still gave some false readings but hrvoj's was considerably more stable. My test was far from scientific, so take my finding as anecdotal ;-) Not tried abyz's version, because I'm lazy and didn't want to port the pigp...
