Re: Capacitive Keypad...colour/cover?

Late reply, but for future reference at least:
Yes - you can indeed cover them. Works for me with paper, thin plastic (1mm), glass (2mm), electrical tape etc.

They're dead sensitive. Perhaps a numeric printout on transparent sheets might do the trick.

Re: Waveshare 7" touch screen not working

For anyone having trouble with this screen and a Raspberry Pi Zero W as I was, where the screen worked but no touch screen at all: The solution was simply that it didn't have enough power - specifically that the Pi couldn't provide enough power from the USB for both the backlight and the touch suppo...

USB Floppy Drive + Pi + Battery?

I've had the mad of idea using floppy disks as removable storage with a raspberry pi, simply because it'd be bonkers. As far as I know usb floppy drives will happily work with a Pi, but does anyone know if it could all run on batteries? I've had success using a 5v ubec to power a Pi (with a 5000mAh ...

RaTTuS, this micro SD that you were convinced would be fake has been tested with H2testw and came back with no errors (my gosh it took ages though.. 30 mins!). The item is here if you're interested - http://yays.co/;z I can also confirm that the Pi *does* boot now, with this SD card. Ichinti, It app...

Re: Pi Model A+ Red and green light on, no boot

Okay, thank you for the very detailed information!
Interesting to know fade is only possible on the + models.

It appears that signs continue to point to a software/memory card issue rather than a hardware problem.. so I'm hopeful.

Re: Pi Model A+ Red and green light on, no boot

I have yes - Raspbian Debian Wheezy Version: September 2014 Apart from on my other 1gb card which isn't large enough. I have ordered a new microSD (Kingston 8gb class 10) which is reportedly compatible, so fingers crossed that could solve the issue, rather than it being a problem with the Pi itself.

Re: Pi Model A+ Red and green light on, no boot

Yeah, it's proving difficult to diagnose though being as the LEDs don't flash in any pattern.

Update: I've tried a sandisk microSD (1gb with moebius), which did something slightly different on boot. Both red and green LEDS come on, then the green fades out fully (within a second).

Pi Model A+ Red and green light on, no boot (solved)

Hey, just got a brand new model A+ and it won't boot. As far as I can tell, nothing at all happens excepting for the red and green LEDs lighting up brightly and constantly. Anyone know what that means? I've tried a couple of (64gb fat32) micro SD cards with up-to-date raspbian wheezy and the power s...

I'm going to buy a similar battery pack to make a pi laptop http://yays.co/_H after seeing this.
hopefully it'll run for ages, I've been powering it with AA batteries til now.

I'd like to know more about what you did with the rover, and that crazy unlimited modem range idea

I also am struggling similarly. Wanting to stream my raspicam with low latency. Every guide I look at doesn't work, or it's not raspicam.. or it's just terrible.

I heard crtmp is the way to go but haven't found any good guides yet. :(

Thank you for such an informative post! I never knew you could pair up L298 controllers to handle higher powered motors :)
I think I'm going to try a set of relays myself though.. and build some DIY tank tracks from bike chains

Re: Attaching a 320x200 display.

okay, but how then do you set the target resolution?
The only way I can make it fill my small monitor is having the framebuffer set to 576x480.
Although, the monitor only actually has a resolution of 480x272.

Re: Attaching a 320x200 display.

Did you solve this in the end? I'm having a similar problem.
setting the framebuffer doesn't help.. because the monitor needs a higher resolution than that.
it needs to be 320x200, then upscaled to 576x480 like it was asked in the first post

Resolution help (resolved)

I am using the raspberry pi on debian squeeze thought the composite output with a small 4" TFT monitor. it's resolution is 480x272 (I believe).. but I think the pi is outputting at 685x548, which isn't bad, but it's a bit blurry. is there a way to change the resolution? I've tried playing with xrand...
