Mine has now come up with the same error. It has been running for months as a cctv and nobody has been near it.

Re: Motion - MMAL camera

Just wanted to say a big THANKS to dozencrows for his work on getting this ported to the pi. I now have a cctv system up and running. Just need to find a waterproof box to fit the camera in and I will be all the road.

Re: Motion - MMAL camera

Thanks for the quick response. I had tried that before but got a no premissions error. I now did a chmod 755 on the 2 files and it appears to run,or at least I get no errors and the red led is on. Now to check the stream.

Thanks

Re: Motion - MMAL camera

Hi all, Looking for a little help with this please. I am very new to linux so its probably something I am doing wrong. Anyway, my camera works fine with raspistill so I know its working. I followed the instructions above and installed motion and then copied the 2 files across to the home directory. ...

Re: Boblight possible?

I have been reading thru this thread with interest. I have just ordered ws2801 LEDs from China which should arrivenext week. a little confused over the current status of this tho. Is the pi now capable of running a 1080p DTS movie from xbmc and also drive the LEDs or are people doing it differently?...

Re: OpenELEC vs Raspbmc vs Xbian

I've tried all three, and none of them seem to be able to to the most basic of things ( like play a DVD!) . Unless you have some huge stash of programmes you've already downloaded from the 'net they all seem pretty much pointless..... PeterO New XBian is said to play dvd images now although I haven...

Re: OpenELEC vs Raspbmc vs Xbian

I have been using all three of them. My needs are "fairly simple". All I want is xbmc to stream from NFS and to be smooth on 1080p with DTS audio. I have 3 pi's but only one of them is connected to a DTS amp. The one with the DTS amp works fine with raspbmc, openelec and xbian. The other 2 are the pr...

Re: OpenELEC Testbuilds

Thanks for the help guys. As you say VI is somewhat different to other editors. I ended up using winscp to go and edit it thru windows. My setup now seems to be working very well. Just got to go and read up on how to hold the xbmc database on a server so that all 3 pi's can access the same one. skooby

Re: OpenELEC Testbuilds

Hi all, having been using raspbmc for a while. I installed openelec recently and find it much better in terms of nfs playback. I have now received my mpeg2 license for one of my pi's and went to install the code in the config.txt. Having modified config.txt on raspbmc thought it would be the same on...

Re: OpenELEC meets Raspberry Pi - part 1 (XBMC)

Hi all,

Been trying all the different xbmc builds - xbian, openelec, raspbmc, raspbian and have now got one that seems to tick all the boxes for me. Thats openelec 11806. One question tho, is there any changelog that tells us whats happening with each build?

Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

Hopefully one of you linux gurus can help a noob. I have installed the image from earlier in this post and everything appears to be great, except one thing. In all the other images I have used when you go to add video sources in xbmc there is an nfs option but its not in this one. Can anyone show me...

Re: Raspbmc Distribution now in Beta

Hi all, Just got my pi and installed raspbmc latest version. At the moment I have attached a usb hard drive with my movie files on it and they play very well. One problem I have (due to my ignorance) is how to get the movie scraper running on those files? I see the scraper is enabled and I also trie...

The RS Faq's are not the clearest. If you registered interest and received the email (which I did) does this mean you are definitely getting one of the first batch?
