I don't know why they called it zerolatency, but it's an option of x264 - if you do "x264 --fullhelp" on the command line you'll see it there. - zerolatency: --bframes 0 --force-cfr --no-mbtree --sync-lookahead 0 --sliced-threads --rc-lookahead 0 In the blog post I linked to above, by a x264 develop...

h264 encoding options? I want tune=zerolatency

Is it possible to specify tune=zerolatency in raspivid or somewhere else? Apparently x264 is the best low-latency streaming codec around (http://x264dev.multimedia.cx/archives/249), and I can definitely get ffmpeg to use this option that is supposed to optimize for streaming (tune=zerolatency) - but...
