Re: GCC 6 Cross Compiler

Thanks. I also found crosstools-ng has a RPi3 configuration for gcc-6. Built OK.

Try Qwt it supports a range of plot options.

GCC 6 Cross Compiler

Does anyone know of where there is a prebuilt gcc-6 cross compiler toolchain.

I have found (after a while away) that gcc-4xx no longer generates code that will link against the current libraries in Raspbian Stretch.

Thanks

Re: Send a QString to the serial port in C++

Use QSerialPort. This is a QIODevice class so you and read and write blocks or lines of text. Read the documentation. There are signals for data available so it can be event driven. If you are accessing MODBUS devices then use libModbus. I have done a Qt wrapper for libModbus in the Libraries at htt...

Assisted Interface for Handicapped Users

I have done an initial release of my QT5 based Assisted Interface (AIF) at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/assisted-interface/files/?source=navbar AIF provides a user interface that can be used by people with limited movement and/or ability to speak. I have mostly dealt with communication (speakin...

Qt5 - No keyboard or mouse

I have built Qt 5.3.1 for RPi 2 and when I run applications using linuxfb as the platform, the window displays but I get no keyboard or mouse.

All works fine from X windows using XCB.

Any ideas how to get input working with linuxfb?

Regards

Re: Qt5 Cross Compile Help Wanted

Solved!

The problem was during configure the cross compiler was first in the PATH.

Normally for cross compiling the target compiler needs to be first, as does its Qt/bin directory (for qmake).

Qt5 Cross Compile Help Wanted

I am trying to cross compile Qt 5.5.1 It has worked in the past but now I have a problem making qtbase. Every time I try it makes the tools (moc etc) for the target not the host. I know there must be something simple I am doing wrong or missing. Can anyone point me in the right direction? The config...

Re: Cross Compile Qt5 -Wl,--gc-sections -Wl,-O1 Causes Error

The "-Wl,<some-option>" form is used to pass linker options to gcc/g++. During link phase, they strip out "-Wl," and pass on only "<some-option>" to linker(ld). I don't know where you got that link line from, but if you can edit it, remove both "-Wl," suffixes since it's invoking linker directly, n...

Re: Cross Compile Qt5 -Wl,--gc-sections -Wl,-O1 Causes Error

I. I am following the method given. Given by who, where, what ? I have followed this method: https://qt-project.org/wiki/RaspberryPi_Beginners_guide Do you know of a method that is certain to work? I have tried several suggestions and they all fail for what appears to be obscure reasons. Many thank...

Cross Compile Qt5 -Wl,--gc-sections -Wl,-O1 Causes Error

I am trying to cross compile Qt5.3.1 for the RPi. I am following the method given. However when I make I get: unrecognized option '-Wl,--gc-sections' during linking. Does anyone have any ideas of how to resolve this? Example of link line is: /opt/RaspPi/arm-bcm2708/gcc-linaro-arm-linux-gnueabihf-ras...

Re: Qt5 - How to get started on Raspberry Pi

Thanks. Yes I did. The root of the problem is the raspbian distribution does provide what is required by Qt5.2. Trying to fix it, quickly becomes a problem in tracking down more and more dependencies which even if they compile correctly they may not run correctly. I will wait until Qt5 and wayland e...

Re: Qt5 - How to get started on Raspberry Pi

I have got as far as getting XCB built with XCB-XKD support. It has to be done on the RPi, which then entails getting Xcb-proto and the build tools. Eventually I got Qt5 to build with XCB support.

But it fails to run under X, complaining about EGLConfig not found.

However the xcb platform plugin is missing, so X windows apps do not run.

Re: Qt5 What is the equivalent for -qws

Thanks. I have got a little further There are various barriers to getting to desktop-Pi equivalence 1) XCB is broken on qt/Pi because the RPi package for libxcb has various bits missing (apparently in error). This might be fixed in due course. 2) Wayland should be a path to getting a windowed enviro...

Qt5 What is the equivalent for -qws

With Qt4 embedded there was the -qws argument that started a windowing system for an embedded target.

What is the equivalent with Qt5?

I want to do as I did with Qt4 - build for desktop then for the embedded target and the "same" appear on both.

Thanks

I have cross-compiled Qt5 for the raspberry pi successfully using the various guides how ever I am having problems getting it working as I might expect (I have many years experience with Qt on X and Win32).
