Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Ah, I see, your code tweak was to add that awb algorithm to the available list in the 'Camera params' ... 'White balance' menu ? I added your modification to the ~/pikrellcam/src/config.c file, then ran make on it. it does not seem to make a difference to the version of pikrellcam that is running ho...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Hi Bill, Just updated one of my birdbox IR cameras on Pi ZeroW / Buster Lite, and get the same purple colour in IR illumination as described below. I tried sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade –y which didnt fix it. I also followed the instruction below, then ran make in /home/pi/pikrellcam/src ...

Re: Is there an i/c? GPIO-controlled spdf-like switch to switch between 2 methods of controlling a transistor?

I followed you up to this point: For your software override, the PI's GPIO can be set as input as well as output. So for the LDR to be used, set the line to input. For the Pi to override, set the Pi to output. A benefit of the 74HCT14 is that they usually come with six inverters in a package. So you...

Is there an i/c? GPIO-controlled spdf-like switch to switch between 2 methods of controlling a transistor?

Hi, I have a simple circuit to mocked up to switch between IR illumination vs visible light illumination in a bird box via a single GPIO. I've used a single GPIO as output to the base of one each of an NPN and a PNP transistor, with visible light leds on the NPN led circuit and the IR leds on the PN...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

There is a lot of interaction with various parts of the program when motion starts a video, so I don't think I want to overload that with a mode where videos are suppressed. But there could be a separate and independent interface for writing motion events to a fifo. Motion videos functions would re...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Kajan001, Pikrellcam interfaces with the camera and file system and runs regardless of wifi or any internet connection. nginx should not care either. The issues I have had were fixed by replacing the SD card or wifi adapter and I otherwise typically get hundreds of days of uptime before I reboot (b...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

The next logical iteration would be to include the video feeds for several PikrellCams into one webpage... https://cjsavage.com/coding/pikrellcam-camera-overview-page.html Yup, I'm using a custom version of that code here. It's a good place to start. http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv60/underwhe...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Thanks xzanfr! Power issues was my first suspect but I have now tried so many different PSUs and cables. The Pi should not use more than around 500 mA at full speed with a camera and I have plugged in 2500 mA PSUs to it. Still, I will try an Anker cable as you suggested. I will check the Wifi but t...

I'm not using servos, the camera is fixed in a birdbox, so havent needed to modify the servo settings from default. Re: RPi Zero W (No Headers) with NeoPixel Ring

What I did with some WS281x LED strips (the same as NeoPixels) was to go to my local hardware store and buy a length of the smallest 3-core mains cable they had (I needed about 3m) and solder that to the end of the strips and to pins 2, 6, and 12 of my Pi Zero. It's been running happily for nearly ...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

I've got an h264 file generated by pikrellcam that failed to get converted to an mp4 file, I think because I rebooted the Raspi Zero that was generating the original file at the time. What is the command that I need to use to convert this to mp4, to essentially complete the process that I interrupted?
