Re: raspberry pi 3B underclock

I think this needs the engineer team to look at it. This is the point it goes wrong, as you know That second bit from the end goes to 1 and starts to override the settings, as though it's now *allowed* max frequency, hit 80.0C and throttles back. 22:03:29 79.5'C 900MHz 00100000000000000000 1.3V 22:...

Re: raspberry pi 3B underclock

The pi is in a box. Time to let it out! This is not helpful. This case is very nice, it's a finished product: https://thepihut.com/products/raspberry-pi-official-7-touchscreen-case?variant=15155531396 It protects the pi and i haven't seen an aluminium option yet. This topic is about underclocking, ...

Re: raspberry pi 3B underclock

The pi is in a box. The current source does not have undervoltage. With a different source it's almost all the time at 600mhz and 50-60C. The bug that i'm trying to get help is: 1. temperature and current consumption ok (the chosen 900mhz) 2. when the intensive use of the cpu raises the temperature ...

Re: raspberry pi 3B underclock

The heat sink is very similar with kintaro, but allows hats (is not as tall). I didn't find a reasonable price for kintaro in europe yet. (shipping more expensive than heat-sink) [email protected]:~/personal/scripts/raspi $ ./info.sh aphy_params_current=819 arm_freq=900 audio_pwm_mode=514 config_hdmi_...

Re: raspberry pi 3B underclock

The heat-sink is not compatible with 3b+.
I do have 3b+'s but they use even more power than 3b and on this case i don't use ethernet, so no advantage.
The stability is ok, it works even at 1,1ghz.

My issue is that it:
- uses more power than asked
- produces more heat than asked

raspberry pi 3B underclock

Hello, I would like to reduce the temperature and power consumption of a raspberry pi 3b. I has a reasonably good heatsink. I think I have identified a bug in frequency scaling code, at least for my use-case. config.txt has: arm_freq=900 gpu_freq=250 core_freq=250 disable_auto_turbo=1 With a long - ...

Re: Viewing BPG image format

I managed to compile libbpg 0.9.6 with the latest raspbian jessie.
It needs a newer libpng (1.6) compiled from sources and a small patch.
There is an included executable for viewing .bpg files.
I have serious issues with a small part of my images, i can't use it in a batch yet.

Re: Raw sensor access / CSI-2 receiver peripheral

I've just had a fiddle with the firmware. The latest sudo rpi-update release should include a config.txt option of "disable_touchscreen". Setting that to 1 should configure the screen, but not set up the service that drives the touchscreen or backlight driver. I've not tested it extensively, but tw...

Re: Raw sensor access / CSI-2 receiver peripheral

I'm not sure how you expect that to work. I'd expect x264 is going to want YUV data, not Bayer. Most of the spatial compression tricks it will want to pull just won't work on Bayer data as there isn't necessarily a correlation between the colour channels. The RAW10 packing is also very bizarre, so ...

Re: Raw sensor access / CSI-2 receiver peripheral

Thank you a lot for your work. It's awesome to have access to the raw stream! My plans are for a 10bit/pixel x264 encoding (i hope a 320x240 stream would work). The instructions are ok, but it doesn't work for me with the official DSI screen. It would be a good idea to warn potential users that this...

RTL8232u with E4000 DVB-T dongle

I have a TerraTec Cinergy T Stick RC (Rev. 3) that has a RTL8232u with E4000 radio frontend. If you want to use the stick with 3.10 kernel, you need to backport the E4000 driver from kernel 3.13. I used the Quake III tutorial, I just applied the patch from the attachement. I hope it will help somebo...
