Re: Internet radio controlled by website

Hi moorecats, I've been working on a project that may meet your requirement - WAF Alarm, clock, internet radio. The RPi is setup to use MPlayer as the media player for online radio stations and lighttpd (lighty) web server for remote browser connectivity. When you point your remote browser to the RP...

Re: Frustrated. Want to build an internet radio player.

Hi plettschner, I'm currently working on a project using a RPi. It's an alarm, clock, radio (streaming using MPlayer) and have more or less completed the web interface build. When I have time, I hope to move onto the hardware build... I only mention it as I thought you maybe interested in the radio ...

Re: WAF Alarm, Clock, Internet Radio (using MPlayer)

Hi Namor, thank you for your interest. I'm currently working at improving the radioTuning function to allow 'deeper' searching for radio stations whilst scraping webcasting services URL's and once complete will look at writing python code to install the web server and MPlayer if not already installe...

Re: WAF Alarm, Clock, Internet Radio (using MPlayer)

Alpha 0.7 added. I believe I may have finished tinkering with functionality for now but may look at writing a python setup script to possibly install the other dependancies of lighttpd web server and Mplayer, making this project a 'simple' one click instal and setup WAF, Alarm, Clock, Radio - any in...

Re: WAF Alarm, Clock, Internet Radio (using MPlayer)

Alpha0.6 is available for download as a zipped file, see original post. Because of the complexity of this project it is proving difficult to highlight all bugs and eradicate them by myself and hope for some help. FYI: The zip file is about 5.5Meg in size and contains a 'readme', 10-local.rules and a...

Re: Lunchbox Internet Radio Guide

Hey "your_mum", it sounds like you are doing something interesting, but I'm not willing to download a zip file from a hosting site. If you post your code I might have a look "elParaguayo", if it's soft plastic, then just a razor and a steel ruler. Make sure you have the ruler over the bit you don't...

Re: Lunchbox Internet Radio Guide

Hi VeryNoob, great project and write up! No doubt by now you have made advances to your software side and issues such as playlists. Like you, I am a total noob to all things RPi! and have been working on a similar project but concentrating on learning the software side (linux, python and javascript)...

Just in case anyone has downloaded 'WAF Alarm, Clock, Internet Radio', I've corrected a bug that could stop the alarm status indicator from showing an alarm was set and also improved viewing error log in a browser.

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi to anyone kind enough to read this post! Received my first (and only - so far) Pi last Apr (2013) and been lurking since around October 2013 looking for inspiration in building an 'Alarm Clock Radio' to replace our v.old (circ 1970's) Ferguson alarm clock/radio - which after a power failure, was ...
