You might want to check CPU usage in a seperate login, if this procedure is limited by CPU that might be your problem.

There is nothing RaspberryPi specific in this solution so have you tried the same thing on another computer ?

Yes, when I enter ssh newuser@yourserver, it asks for a password. When I enter my new password (different from the root user), it does connect to the server.

Re: writing logs using cronab

Yes. @reboot sudo python /home/Desktop/Appllication.py >>/home/pi/output.log 2>>/home/pi/output.err '2' indicates the error output. This command appends output; use single '>' to create a new file when your scripts starts. HTH Dirk. Thank you. When I tried the command that you have posted for cron,...

Did you use the first or the second of the constructs above?
The first only redirects error output; the second should redirect both.

Gr.
Dirk.
I used the first.
Is it possible to redirect standard output and standard errors to two separate files ?

Re: Python based error logs

There are examples all over. Or you can write your own, which is what I did. Just specify the file location. I use a function like below and rotate periodically. Pretty easy stuff. def writedatedlogmsg(logfile, message, reqloglevel=1, currloglevel=1): if currloglevel >= reqloglevel: logfile = open(...

Re: Python based error logs

You could use the python logging system. You can use multiple levels, redirect it to a file, etc. See for example https://docs.python.org/2/library/logging.html, https://docs.python.org/2/howto/logging.html Gr. Dirk. For example, if the USB device connected to the ports is broken, when the code is ...
