Re: Is there any way to connect the Pi Zero W to a laptop?

Hi, I can find solutions to connect other Raspberry Pi models to laptops, but they usually use ethernet connections, and the Pi Zero W doesn't have one - Does anyone know any way to connect the Zero W to a laptop? Set up the Zero W as an Access Point ? https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/conf...

Re: Surprised to see you promoting W10

Windows Desktop 10 ARM like other variants of Windows 10 for ARM have been compiled for Qualcomm SoCs, which is quite differing architecture. I feel that after having read various posts & blogs it is an excercise in hacking with dubious legality, obviously differing countries have differing rules. P...

Re: High performance remote connection to a windows 10 machine

Hello, I need to access Windows 7 and 10 computers remotely, let's say about 150 meters apart, in an internal network with absolutely no access to the internet (I mention that so that it is clear that I do not need any secure connection). Aiming to a cheap solution, I have bought a RPi 3 B+. I have...

Re: PostgreSQL updated now what?

I have been trying out different flavors on Linux on my rPi 3b+ and today’s flavor was the prebuilt kali image. After a few hurdles getting the base os working I apt-get upgrade and received notice that I would have to upgrade postgresql manually. Which I did. After the upgrade of psql I found that...

Hi everyone. Kind of noob here, but would really like to know if i need to sell my raspberry pi 3b+ and change it for a regular 3b. I would like to start an android app on my pi. the pie should be connected to a electric dartboard and show stats on a screen. As I found out, the two versions i found...

Re: Noob Needs Help! Emu, Kodi and Torrent on 1 Pi

Hello all, I am new to the world of Pi, and need some advice! I have just bought a Pi 3 B+, and ideally want to use it for emulation, Kodi and Torrenting. I understand that RetroPi and Recalbox allow access to Kodi, but not other apps. How would I best handle this? I would need whichever GUI it is ...

The card was becoming glitchy. That same day I tried to copy some stuff to a USB drive and it would only let me read. Could not change permissions or ownership on the USB drive. There are ~ 4 gigs of files and 25+ gigs of free space on my original card that are unaccounted for, is there any softwar...

So I am almost done with my MagicMirror project and I am already looking to implement Android Auto into my 2008 Citröen C4 Picasso. However I've seen already several projects here, on GitHub and YouTube and I simply can't see which one is the most complete/powerfull... What I want is to have the mo...

We have random power cuts here and it's making Raspberry Pi unbootable, there really isn't anything running on Pi, when these power cuts strike, but SD card is still developing corruptions. I seem to remember that this SD card developed corruptions even on a clean shutdown. Is there any fault anywh...

Re: Which Rasp for "pro" project?

@ fruitoftheloom I think you're right, this module is perfect for production. The bad point is the motherboard size... Lack of research leads to wrongly assuming you use the development kit in your final product. Examples of Baseboards created by developers, I am sure you could create a design to s...

That's what I saw when I hit the shift key, it looked like the original Noobs install screen. I'm gonna do it tomorrow, the mem card is hosed anyway... What exactly does this do? I shut down my pi normally, removed the mem-card, and installed a relay module to it. Now when trying to boot, it keeps showing bad sectors with many reread attempts. If I use this recovery mode, will it "renew" the base files while saving my work, or do a reformat and re...

Re: RPi 3 B+ will not negotiate a gigabit connection

Although the Raspberry Pi has support for gigabit ethernet, it cannot function at true gigabit speed because the ethernet is pushed through the usb controller. However, you should be able to get speeds of atleast 400-500 mbps. Try reducing the number of devices you have connected to the usb ports t...

Re: How can I reinstall Raspbien Lite?

I know I could always just reformat my microSD card and reinstall the operating system via Win32DiskImager, Do not reformat your microSD card - it is 100% pointless and just wears out the card! Win32DiskImager or Etcher will overwrite everything on the disk including the partition table. As above s...
