Re: Raspbian Jessie: I wish to update/upgrade within my Jessie release, without revising to Stretch release

Debian Jessie is an old release and is no longer being updated except for security fixes. As a Long Term Support (LTS) release it will get such fixes until June 30, 2020. See here: https://wiki.debian.org/LTS Raspbian Jessie is derived from Debian Jessie but I have no idea if anyone is going track ...

I want to do an install for a program that has specific instructions installing based on the flavor of linux.

Version 4.4 and newer Raspbian Stretch Lite.

Previously was Raspbian Jessie Lite.

Raspbian is a fork of Debian ARMHF compiled to run on both ARMv6 & ARMv7.

Re: Chromium, firefox and debian stable

I understand it's a modified chromium version. But modified or not, I am simply concerned with the lack of important security updates, especially when it is the default browser. I wonder if there are plans to automate/speedup the releases.. Until then, there may be alternatives, like firefox... The...

When this Post was originally posted 18 months ago it was configured for Raspbian Jessie and a now older version of Chromium Browser. Both are now end of life so you need to find a guide for the current Raspbian Stretch and chromium-browser (later than version 59) and can support WideVine DRM... ......
