Re: Raspberry Pi TV Hat DVB-T2 Gateway (Tvheadend with FFmpeg and realtime hardware video stream transcoding)

This is a very-very short installation manual that gives 100% working result. Hardware: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and Raspberry Pi TV Hat. 1. Install Raspbian Jessie (not Raspbian Stretch!) and update the system. 2. Install Tvheadend v4.3 (unstable) as described here: https://tvheadend.org/projects/tv...

Still stiks the RPi 3A offline, no WiFi.
It has built in wifi chip? I think?

Yes WiFi & BT are on the 3A+ same Chipset as 3B+

Re: Retropie - building from parts

What I'm looking to understand is the following... There are lots of Kodi, media watching, software, etc builds on Raspberry Pi that can be built from scratch but are also available in a premade build that already works. But is Retropie something that can be built in such a way that you can control...

Where is network configuration setup? Various sources such as https://stackoverflow.com/questions/20251320/default-settings-raspberry-pi-etc-network-interfaces point to /etc/network/interfaces but mine only mentions:- source-directory /etc/network/interfaces.d How do I tell which interfaces are pre...

Hi. I have a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ from Canakit, which includes the SD card ready to launch the SO installation. Partial success. After rechecking the wpa setup on 3B I moved the SD to Zero and WiFi connected and stayed connected. I am really not sure what or if did / changed anything. I had to install WiFi printer , same time , and now Wicd shows it OK. I FINALY got the Zero to connect to TCF Agent running o...

Generally, for a screen like that, the manufacturer or supplier should provide the data needed to install drivers or configuration information.

Re: STICKY: Pi 3 A+

So a regular apt update apt upgrade would bring it up to date? Can use my mobile data, but certainly can't grab the full OS from scratch. Yes, It means it came to apt sometime July onwards, (the one before the image it was officially in) you may already have it if you apt upgraded at some point. So...

Re: Pull the plug

The above statements are true for Raspbian, but there are other options (like Tiny Core Linux, which is an OS that runs entirely from RAM). Persistence is the main issue. If you don't need to save data between boots, then something like Tiny Core could allow powering off at any time. If you DO need...

Hello, I am trying to set my 3B+'s core frequency from 250MHz to 400MHz. I added core_freq=400 in the config.txt but running vcgencmd measure_clock core after reboot still shows the frequency as 250MHz. Is changing this no longer possible on the 3B+? https://miguelangelantolin.com/raspberry-pi-3-b-...

Does the Pi3A+ require the latest OS? Mine should arrive this afternoon, but my internet connection at home is under repairs, so I"m stuck with a ~2 month old version of Raspbian until some time next week., Support for 3A+ was added 2018-10-09: http://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian/release_note...

Maybe this would be a better solution ? https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/lipo-shim Maybe not, since it's designed for a Pi Zero and only outputs 1.5A, and the OP was asking about powering a 3B+ model. Although the concept is sound. You'd need a DC-DC converter with higher output current capabilit...

Re: Ban from Raspberry Pi forums. [Self-imposed.]

I can understand the frustration with the changes, but a close reading of *why* the changes were made shows them to be beneficial because this should be the *last* time one has to redo user account level config file....and that is a very good thing. One does have to question how many people change ...

A threat of physical violence has no place in a civilised forum, whether it was meant in jest or not. I think a ban is entirely correct in this case. So why was he not banned when he used the exact same 'threat' on earlier occasions? And why don't moderators get banned when they threaten with a (ba...
