Re: Raspberry Pi "Offline" communication

How would an access point work? He connects to the RPi network somehow? He won't be on the same network? So while he was testing his setup it sounds like he had the pi and his phone connected to an existing network , probably his home broadband router/network, but now he wants to put the setup in a...

Re: Raspberry Pi "Offline" communication

I have never heard of MyPi, but if you could VNC into the pi and change a setting or type a command to change the relay possibly? Yes, but VNC doesn't work either if the Raspberry isn't connected to the same network... Thats is where you are wrong. You can add the VNC to your address book after mak...

Whats the difference between Raspian and Raspian Stetch OS?
Raspbian is the name of the OS.
Stretch is the name of the release/version.

The previous release of Raspbian was called Wheezy. The next release will be called Buster.

Re: Power supply for Rpi 3

Hello, does anyone know good power supplies that are cheap from the RPi sellers? I find paying 8 pound for a power supply is a bit much. I have loads of 1 Amp power supplies around the home, apple chargers, micro usb, etc that might be able to power a Rpi 3 but not sufficiently. It is not expensive...

Hi all, I have a couple of pi 3 and some camera modules, that I'd like to turn into ONVIF cameras. So I found https://github.com/BreeeZe/rpos , and tried to follow it. But it needs nodejs 6. And it looks to me that it should install just that with the lines in the guide; curl -sL https://deb.nodeso...

I wanted to see if it's possible to use a toggle switch connected to they pi, via USB to power the device on and off? Or baring that, the GPIO pins? Every single time I reboot the file /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf is changed and overwritten with the old wifi configuration. This might be a symptom of a wider problem with your system. Check that your microSD card has not spontaneously entered a read-only state. Create a trivial file, w...
