Re: Ryanteck Robot using an Arduino?

Just realised, I have already built the Motor Control Board. I could de-solder the header but would rather not. Any suggestions?

Ryanteck Robot using an Arduino?

I have a Ryanteck Budget Robot designed for use with a Raspi. I was wondering how difficult it would be to drive it with an Arduino (Uno/Mega) instead. I have an Infrared Wireless Remote Control Kit For Arduino, (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141228410126?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AM...

Piface with Fedora KDE

I have just put 'Pi2B-Fedora-KDE-armhfp-21-5-20150301-1-sda' on and am trying to get the Piface Emulator installed. I had no problems with '2015-02-16-raspbian-wheezy' but quite like the Fedora. Is it possible to do this or am I wasting my time?

Thanks

Re: SSH or VNC

Maybe I should have been a little clearer. I will put a Python programme on the Pi which is directly connected to the robot. I would then 'run' the programme from another Pi. The only way I can think of doing it (please bear in mind I am posting this in the beginner section) is to use either SSH (wh...

SSH or VNC

I want to control a Raspi from another one and was wondering which is the easier to use, SSH or VNC. What I want to do is run a robot which will be connected to one Pi and control it from another Pi. Or is is easier to use a Macbook or PC?

Thanks

Fedora Mate terminal

I have installed Berryboot and at present am running Fedora 21 Mate. I opened the Mate terminal but cannot seem to do anything with it. I tried running 'sudo apt-get update' and keep getting the message 'myname is not in the sudoers file This incident will be reported'. I have no idea what to do. An...

Linaro

Just put Linaro on a spare SD card and have a few issues. It keeps asking for the password (which is linaro). Is there anyway to get it to boot straight to the desktop without the password? Also, I cannot shut it down or reboot, it comes up with: GDBUS.Error:org.freedesktop.dbus.error.accessdenied:o...

Ubuntu, Mint etc

How easy is it to set up an SD card with one of the 'other' Linux OS's? Such as Ubuntu or Mint etc? I see that there is a 'Snappy Ubuntu Core' available for download but how user friendly is it to set up with a GUI?

Cheers

HDMI monitor recomendation

Can anyone recommend a relatively cheap HDMI monitor? I am fed up of trying to get a decent picture AND sound. With my VGA monitor I can get a good picture but no sound and with my Logik TV I get crap picture and good sound. I have tried everyones suggestions so far but cannot get a display with sou...

Graphical GPIO pin?

Is there some way of graphically seeing the GPIO pins once they have been programmed? This (in my view) would be a good aid instead of using an LED of voltmeter.

Thanks

Synaptic Package Manager

I installed the Synaptic Package Manager which runs OK from the terminal. When I try and run it from the desktop it comes up with: Identity: pi Password: blank (not the word blank but a blank space :) ) I didn't put a password in when I downloaded it so why is it asking for one but not when I run it...

Re: Fuzzy characters?

Can't you edit the SD card config.txt file on a 'normal' computer? as stated before, mine works with these settings:

Code: Select all

# NOOBS Auto-generated Settings:
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_drive=2
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=16
disable_overscan=1/code]

Audio App?

My fuzzy video is now sorted but I cannot find any audio players. I put an MP3 on and it tries to find an audio player but cannot. There is very little of anything in the Pi Store and what there is is impossible to download. I click the download button and nothing happens.

Thanks

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by 'Get rid of all that crud, it won't be making things look better'. My monitor only has a VGA input and gives a pretty good display with my settings.
