https://github.com/ereyes01/fishcam I'm using the c920, which has an integrated H.264 encoder. I am currently pushing 800x448 at 30fps at ~3mbps more or less (according to what iftop tells me). I haven't tried 720p because I didn't need that high of a resolution for my app (watch my fish from work),...

Streams h.264 from a c920 / raspberry pi to a Python tornado webserver. Video goes in a html5 video tag.

Give a whirl, hopefully it does what you need.
