So managed to install ‘Debian Stretch’ on a partition of my iMac - starts up in Stretch by default BUT does NOT show up as a BOOT image on ‘option start’ (to choose OS) - anyone ?? (probably shows me for the n00b I am :D ) NOT a HUGE problem as I just have to remember to hold option key down on rebo...

Re: APP: play tracks from youtube !

This instruction set isn't working for us. My daughter and I built the MagPI project on Thursday and everything is working well. No errors once I set up the billing info. Everything is fine up until I work on the action.py file. I've tried using the GDrive document and also followed the instruction...

Re: APP: play tracks from youtube !

I'm noob-ish and had this working with omx but cannot get close with vlc and I didn't save the omx config so I can't go back. I've tried the quick install, the long install, the changes suggested in the forum and I've even tried a clean, new install of the AIY software on a new card with no joy. Th...

Well last time I spoke to Jamie he said he'd ordered a new fancy CoffeMaker and we all know how he likes his frappellattemochachino - suppose he didn't realise how big it was though . . .

Re: v1.1 controller board

Well the short and sweet of it is that we would all like the newest / best featured controller boards and if it is possible to buy an upgraded board as opposed to replace whole unit the better. Thanks for response - let's hope the matter is cleared up from a sellers / vendors point of view as well.

think I've cracked it - fingers crossed - do sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces change ANYTHING saying 'manual' to 'dhcp' like below: # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) # Please note that this file is written to be used with dhcpcd # For static IP, consult /etc/dhcpcd.conf and 'man dh...

SPI MISO / CE2

Having trouble with an addon board for a PiZero , connects to Pins 35-40 (6pins) : it's a 4tronix PZM Pi Zero Motor Shim. When I boot up PiZero - MotorB (pins35/36) starts revving at random intervals indicating something going on on those pins (very annoying) This stops though soon as I've ran a pyt...

Raspian Jessie 4GB

I have posted on the forum before about a 'Jessie Light' and I'm guessing the good folks at the Foundation will be busy preparing an official 4GB distro for Jessie. I have in the mean time uploaded a zipped package to Google Drive if anyone needs it (some schools will still battle with 4Gb cards). T...

Re: Just ran out of room. Wheezy 4G SD

I have made a 'Jessie Light' .img to fit on a 4GB card ; I removed LibreOffice and Wolfram as these are packages not much used (by myself) on a Pi. I uploaded a zipped package to Google Drive for those who feel adventurous - tested on a model B rev2 working great. If anyone needs / wants the 4GB ver...

Creating a 4Gb 'Jessie Light' for model B

First of all it needs to be said ; I am NOT a 'code ninja' - I'm learning 'on the job' - still  The release of Jessie is brilliant news BUT we need a distro that fits on a 4Gb card / model B of which there are plenty about in clubs and schools. I went about making 'Jessie Light' the hard way ...
