Re: Linux distributions available

Since it is to run headless, I would go for Debian testing, currently Buster. Another option would be Arch Linux, it does not have releases/versions, it is a rolling release, so the software is updated as new stable versions becomes available. Although it is a bit more complicated to use and maintai...

Been testing this for a bit now and it seems to be working fine using chromium v72 and following chromium vars: CHROMIUM_FLAGS="${CHROMIUM_FLAGS} --ignore-gpu-blacklist --enable-one-copy-rasterizer --enable-gpu-rasterization --enable-native-gpu-memory-buffers --enable-checker-imaging --enable-quic ...

It do work actually but not with certain video encoding as stated above ill get back the weekend

But Will check differences with 65 and 72 :)
It is confirmed by many people, video performance on 72 is much worse than in 65. For example:

Re: [HowTo!] Smooth youtube 1080p in Chromium

Hardware video acceleration in Chromium 72 is kind of broken. No matter what you do in the flags, it won't work smooth. Downgrade to Chromium 65.

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspbian Stretch

Kodi mounts my USB drives fine if I exit Kodi and then launch it with 'kodi-standalone' from a command shell. In an attempt to get USB drives working after Kodi is autolaunched at boot, I changed my deprecated launch service to systemd, essentially as described in this comment , except I run Kodi a...

Re: Chromium- or Chrome-Browser on LibreElec with "ARM"

I don't think you can install chromium browser on LibreELEC.

But you can install Kodi and Chromium browser on Raspbian, and make it autostart directly to Kodi, there is many different ways of doing this, check this:

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspbian Stretch

My Kodi directly autostarts shortly after boot with no desktop. I believe this is done by a service, which was part of the (official?) package from a few versions ago, but it was so long ago I don't recall the details. I imagine the service uses "kodi-standalone" since auto-mounting worked with Kod...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspbian Stretch

Does something special need to be done with Kodi 18.1 in order to use USB drives? On Kodi 17, I would plug in a memory stick or HDD cable and it would auto-mount with the files browsable. Nothing appears now that I've updated Kodi. Thanks in advance! If you are running Kodi from the desktop, you do...

Re: Some kodi-audiodecoder add-on packages incorrectly linked

Rascas: I investigated this issue today, the problem is that the binary add-on packages are built with the -DUSE_LTO=1 flag to cmake, but then "ar" and "ranlib" from the binutils package are used on the built libraries, and they do not understand the use of LTO. ar and ranlib print "plugin needed t...

I am the RPi Foundation repo Kodi packages maintainer and you have more information about it here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=192499 About how addons are built (and the rest of the packages) is here: https://github.com/PIPplware/xbmc/blob/leia_stable/build_rpi_debian_pac...
