Re: Kodi not starting - Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Ok then, I am out of ideas, you most likely have to reinstall the OS.

Re: Kodi not starting - Segmentation fault (core dumped)

That kind of hardware shouldn't interfere with Kodi, but the TV, specially it's CEC implementation can cause the crash. Can you try it with another TV ? About python, Kodi depends on python2.7, many different packages, you have to check the depends section of "kodi" and "kodi-bin" packages. Can you ...

Re: Kodi not starting - Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Yes, there isn't any error in your latest logs, that is really strange. Did you changed any hardware that you use with the Pi since the last time it worked ? Like power supply, microUSB cables, TV, etc ? Also did you installed/activated the open-source video/OpenGL drivers recently ? The only thing ...

Re: Kodi not starting - Segmentation fault (core dumped)

It is possible that you got corrupted files in your installation. Can you please move/remove /home/pi/.kodi, reinstall kodi with:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install --reinstall kodi
Whatch if you get any errors during reinstall. Then start Kodi with the user "Pi".

Re: Kodi not starting - Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Do you have any joystick connected ? Can you try without it connected ? Also a debug log would be more usefull since there is nothing in the logs that could explain the crash:

Re: Kodi not starting - Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Please post your crash log into some site like pastebin:
Crash report available at /root/kodi_crashlog-20180509_212951.log
And it is not advisable to run Kodi as root, but that is not the cause of your problem, just an advice ;)

But I wouldn't recommend to use both on the same RPi. HA runs even on the Zero, and you get things separated.

Re: Kodi and Home Assist simultanly

Yes, Kodi and Home Assistant runs on Raspbian for example, I had both running some time ago with no problem. To put it shortly, install Raspbian then install Kodi, you have a complete guide in this foruns on how to do it. Then follow the official instructions of Home Assistant to install it on Raspb...

That is not possible on the Raspberry P, at least till now. If you start Kodi it will stay always on top, you have to close it to return to the desktop.

Re: Kodi

I have encountering technical problems with Kodi. I am able to see my Mp3 files. I am unable to see the Mp4 files. I have them stored in the corresponding folders. However, Kodi is slow. I am unable to play music or videos. It does not allow me to put kodi in a small window or minimalize while I wo...

That's another option. I don't use Noobs personnally but it should have the option to install other OSs, it is one of it's main purpose.

That is impossible, you aren't doing something right, like copying the files to the sdcard, or adding the correct dir. Try again, and please give more details and post your Kodi log.

You just have to add to directory which contain the music files as a source in the Music section. All the information here:

Re: configure Kodi on raspbian lite via ssh

The web interface is just to controll an instance of Kodi, not to view videos embedded.
Your questions were alraedy answered o kodi foruns. Basically Kodi isn't made to be running headlessly, daemon mode or in the background.

Re: LAN7515 -- USB bus contention issues?

I don't know about RPi 3B+ new lan chip, I didn't received mine yet, but some time ago I tested one RPi 3 with a USB 3.0 to Gigabit ethernet on Raspbian Jessie and I had more or less the same results as Hiassoft with his RPi 3B+. Iperf got about 300Mbits but on a real world scenario I got transfers ...

You will be offered the standard Run, Save, Cancel options. 3. Once downloaded, installation will commence automatically if the Run option was select...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspbian Stretch

I seem to be having an issue. Mainly due to the fact that Kodi needs to be run as root in order to utelize reboot / restart functionality from within kodi. If kodi crashes, or you need to reboot for whatever reason, you'll end up staring at a blank black screen (assuming, like me, you use this thin...

Re: retropie and CEC + another question

I have seen in RetroPie forums / wiki that is possible to controll Emulation Station with CEC, by installing something. Check the wiki or ask in their foruns. Kore works fine for me in RetroPie's Kodi, you just have to enable "allow remote control via HTTP" like explained here: http://kodi.wiki/view...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspbian Stretch

Kodi uses udisks instead of udisks2 used by the Pixel desktop to mount disks. So for Kodi to mount/automount disks, without the desktop loaded, you have to install udisks first: sudo apt-get install udisks You also need to use "kodi-standalone" instead of "kodi" in the systemd script, replace the r...
